So im on a 4x4 doing a drip on hydroton in pots and flowering from clone. I never used hydroton by itself before, how many times per day should i feed...? How many at night..?

I just left the system on constantly for the first 2 days cuz i was worried that the roots would die if i didnt, being so small and so close to the top. Could i run this system 24/7 without any negative effects..? Would nutes build up reallly quick if i ran it like that..? I wouldnt think this stuff would hold many nutes....does it..?
I dont even need to flush but one time when i do coco dtw runs , so this stuff would just seem like a "no flush till the final 2 weeks" kind of media. But maybe it works differently since the coco is run to waste and the hydroton is recirculating.

Any tips, or answers to my questions are appreciated. thx!

Well after some searching, ive found that it seems like any watering schedule works. Some do 15 on 15 off, 24/7, once per hour, twice per hour. I guess it jus comes down to what works best for your setup.

Anyone think if i stuck an airstone in each pot and ran it, and the system 24/7 (even at night to prevent drying out from the air stones) that i would get dwc like growth rates...?

What processes do you guys do to ween your clones into hydroton when you put them straight into flower? I just ran the system all day and night and it worked out good. I hear people say not to water at night, but i didnt notice any negative effects...

I run a ebb and grow system with the ton and flood it five times a day without any probs. Day thru night.

great thing about hydroton is you cant overwater... i do 15min on every hour

not to much flushing needed, mabey once a month water from top to wash out nutes...

5 times a day for 15mins one of those in dark that is what i use and it works but i flood not drip

i water 15minutes every 3 hours including night ... stops the tank from getting stagnant water probs but every 4 hours would im sure be fine

I run a top fed recirculating drip system similar to your have. I feed Day: 25s on, 1h45min off, night: 25sec on, 6h30m off.

I water 1 time in dark 15 min every 3 hours for 15 min in day

Small E&F setup, basically the bottom of a 5gal bucket cut off and put on top of a 5gal bucket res/pump/stone combo. I only run it twice a day for 10 minutes. I think 5min would do.

I think So-Quick does 30 seconds every half hour? Open end 1/4" line buried in the hydroton at the base of the rockwool cube. With the strain and setup he's running he gets budsickles the size of his leg. Massive strain and setup though. Just wicked
