I LOVE IT!!!!

Learning curve...
Rinse well with warm water before using , very well
keep a low ph 5.5- 5.7
add silica to nutes
Keep it wet
use it straight, no perlite
My last crop I watered 2.5 gal pots 2x day till runoff

Thats my 2 cents

Can you explain why you picked 2x a day to water? Pure perlite Hempy growers seem to prefer 1x every two days and it would seem that coco would hold water longer than perlite. Not questioning your decision or results, just curious about how you arrived at the decision.

yeah that is interesting. i've read tons in the coco forums and most everyone seems to do it 1x a day or every other day with great results. do your plants thrive better with the more frequent waterings? i'm an organic soil grower, so a ph meter might be a worthwhile investment if i decide to go coco next time..

Here they are today

I burned them a little yesterday

Nutes were up at 1600ppm

or the spray I bathed them in burnt them

Looks like nute burn, but its almost rusty lookin

I highly stress spend $70 and get a self adjusting ph meter, love my oakton.
u can get cheaper but pH differs at different temperatures.
Burnt my last crop going through that, ph was almost 4.0

Coco drains so fast it pulls air into the substrate, Ive found

You can get big results pumping them up hard and fast just like hydro
but you get some cushion for mistake as far as heat n watering is concerned
It can get a little technical but it isnt hard
its not the soil concept

Thats a clone tray on a heat mat themostat set for 75f

The room is controlled with a cap air co2-4 relay, its overkill but im over pump and dump systems for now

And a 400w hybrid bulb on a magnetic balllast

sounds like a solid plan, i'm doing to same thing but on a smaller scale in a cab. i'm trying to get it all dialed in before going big. scrog(20" diameter) and 400w CMH in the middle. Co2 bottle fed, coco, all the goodies.

most def sticking around for this one.

Welcome, and thank you for sharing all of your wonderful goodies Bud-Boy. I'm certainly tuned in for this show to learn a thing or ten.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH

Oh, did I mention I've never done Hempy style?
No!

So I decided to include this because of the nature of coco.
and the nature of me, dohhh!!!

That extra reservoir in the bottom of the pot comes in helpful if things are goin quicker then I was thinkin,
Cuz when a root dies it's DONE
specially in late flower

so I used to DTW, and still will, but use the hempy style too

Found hempy style last year when I was lookin for a way to add a slanted platform inside my coco buckets. sorta like fill it with cement and let it dry on a tilt so the lowest end was on at the floor of the container
and the higer end was about 1 inch

I've used a similar method in an outdoor green house 2 years ago. buckets w holes in the bottom sat in a shallow dish that i added solution to every three days or so

DOOOOOOOODE
it was os EZ!!!!!

Theres the result of the shallow pan passive resy
they were all done and we were using them in some photos

Those were total neglect plants that BLEW up after I added the passive pan

went out every three to 5 days and drenched em

Strawberry cough, buba kush, #7, somethin and somethin.....

So back to the thread

ahheemmm

Next on the list is drill the holes add grommets and cut the hexagon table for the containers to sit on, elevated for drainage

Got the 3/4 in ply today

3.5 ft hexagon with about 12 inches of shelf depth,
OR
3.5 ft hexagon w a 1.5 ft hex hole in the center

same diff

I had thought about a two tier system 6 plants per rim
1800 watts naked vertical stack in the center

But ill stick with 2 1200 watt vert stacks, 6 plants each
on the stretch

Im going naked bulbs in the growing environment first to see how difficult itll be to cool that space all sealed up
if its a biotch
i have tubes ill run through it and vent em out the top from the bottom

ill float the whole base of the room then

but ill add a second AC before all that nonsense rumbles through

NOTE TO SELF:
shut th efuck up!!!
