canna vs GH

I'm currently using Canna coco A+B but after reading h3ads coco post about using only micro and bloom I am considering switching over due to the lower cost of nutes.

Has anyone tried both GH and Canna in coco? Which did you prefer? Did you notice a difference in yield or quality? Thanks for responding!

Havent tried GH...BUT, i use House and Garden A and B as well as a few other additives from house and garden.

All I have to say is, my buds come out really nice, my buddy grew on of the same strains I do all the time, but he only used a 1 part GH with and it was just as dank as my buds, in fact it may have been a little dankier.

This upsets me. I will be switching to bio-canna next though, even thought it's not one part I am just interested. I've got the inside info from my local hydro store and they said that House and Garden is a rip off from Canna, and canna is supposed to be pretty nice and I know they have a organic line I wanna mess with.

ALL IN ALL, I couldn't believe the results from a one part GH compared to my many nutrients I am using.....In the long run I could see myself easily sticking to GH and making life 10 times easier for myself.

I have tried GH with great results. Some of the best looking buds I have seen out there come from user RosyCheeks who uses a three part GH formula. I personally am sticking with a modified (I up the dosage of bloom just a little bit during flower) Head schedule and my plants have never been happier. I am using an out of date Rootjuice product from Biobizz. It seems to be doing the trick.

Cannas products are the best in my experience.

GH is great, but i've gotten better yield and taste out of Cannas line up. I find BOOST to be pretty amazing and offer a lot more during the growth phases for my ladies.(primarily weeks 2-3 and 5-6ish in flower)

I think both GH and Canna are high quality nutes and that you may find that your strain prefers one or the other??

I'm with oswizzle.. I have used both and prefer GH for the same reasons and also because it is much easier for me to find at local hydro shops (canna is only sold at one shop across town). I run just the micro and bloom.

The only thing I do a little different from the head formula was to tweek the ratios a little for different phases of growth. I now run 9ml micro and 6ml bloom in veg, 7.5 ml of each in the first 2 weeks of flower, 6ml micro and 9ml bloom til week 5-6, then drop the micro and run 15 ml bloom till flush (2 weeks plain water).

Since changing to this schedule, I haven't seen the calcium defs in veg nor the mg defs in flower without the use of calmag (my tap water is damn close to RO, 30ppm) GH is cheap, easy and the end results for me were way similar to the canna coco line (pk,zyme, rhizo, boost) at a fraction of the cost and hassle.

I'm not trying to say this is the ultimate feed schedule, but it is what I use and has been good to me.

thanks for the info bongo!

I'll definitely be considering the switch to GH after I run out of these canna nutes

Imo, you cant go wrong with either. I use GH exclusively, so i cant comment on Canna, but both are very popular with coco users.

You should really take a look at the House and Garden line. Its a little cheaper than the Canna and just as clean. The House and Garden have the hands down best root excellerator on the market. Its a bit pricey but worth every penny. Plus if your running cocco the H&G pretty much is PH balance or very little adjustment. I have had really good luck with it and have ran pretty much all the other nuts out there. Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

your using the cogr line with the regular bagged coco?

how does the carboload treat you in coco? when do you run it?

i never used the Gh product in coco but i have plenty with hydroton, gh with the 1 to 2 micro, bloom ratio worked pretty damn well i suspect canna will leave a better taste tho:joint:

this is what my set up looks like..
I start using carbo load at the first sign of bloom..
I change my tanks every seven days, and try to keep myp. h at 5.8. I have a few new strains that i'm playing with that need some cal/mal added to the nutrients.

I also use the GH Nova series exclusively now. Used to use the 3-part but will only be using that with my fruits/veggies from now on to supplement the Nova.

It's very very clean and there aren't any 'synthetic' or chemical 'hormone like' bits in it. It's just clean nutes with a little organic matter (5%) for the fulvic/humic boost.

I also will have to say GH floranova series. I run the nova, licious and plus as my primary nutes for both veg and bloom. I forgo the licious for grow however. For supplements I use Liquid Karma, hygrozyme, kool bloom (powder) and molasses.

I have never used anything other than GH as my main nutes ever. They have always worked great and getting a better final product would be difficult IMO.
