I'm not sure i would cut anything.

I'd try bending it over. Carefully

I have used the green vinyl "tree" type non sticky tape to gently pull the plants over.

It's been a while since I advised so i hope other will jump in here.

The old saying is you don't have enough watts

Higher energy keeps inter node spacing shorter.

But my first reaction is more light in the right spectrum, bend it over.

then again you did say mother plant

Bending should help develop clone sites.

You could top it, super crop it and a bunch more things.

Hopefully you will get better advice; i'm rusty at helping others.

you need to cut clones form the mother and trash the mom. your light is not the best for veg, so take clones and start new so there close to the light

or find the bonsai mom article if you want to mess with that

habeeb, that's what i was thinking as well but i didn't know how clones from a clone would fare. The mother had been really beaten up because she was my last bean and i had an genius alarm go off as she was 4wks into flower, so i reverted her to veg and these are the first clones off the production line.

What would be a better light for veg? Everything i have loves this T8 fixture with dual spectrum ( 1 of each ) bulbs. I plan on removing the red bulb from it and going dual blue eventually.

High Cheerio, a clone from clone does jus fine, been doin it fer years. I would suggest bending the mother over and flowering it. Then as yer new clone mother grows "low stress train" it ( do a search on LST ) so it never gets tall. When the time comes, clone again and flower the mother. You will yield -so- much more this way. It will also keep yer canopy level so everything gets light evenly. Hope this helps. Good luck. BC
