How do you guys store seeds?

I have a lot of '08 outdoor fall harvest weed seeds I want to store for a while. What's the best way to do that?

Also, as sort of a newbie with growing pot (it's a long story!), how can I store a few seeds of "store bought" seeds best?

I tried searching for info on this topic with little success, so sorry if this repeats previous questions.

Thanks for any help. Thank God it's Friday! Enjoy!

Do you all think the viability time is shortened by keeping them in their normal seed packs put in a container in a dark closet at normal room temp(70-72 degree)?

I can't put in fridge or freezer so hoping just room temperature gives them a few years.

Wedge has it down ! That is exactly the way I do it but I put them in a sealed bag with those little packets that you find with electronics that take out moisture. Also I duct tape them to the top up under the veggie bin.

Silica Gel is the compund that acts as a dessicant, you should always check it 6 monthly though as it can get clogged up with moisture and need replacing. It's also good to use something like a 35mm camera film case or similar but the secret is dark, dry and cool. If you have those they will keep for quite a while.

Yep.
I never store mine in a fridge. In a cool dark place. So far it has worked for beans up to around 7 years old...and still counting...

I don't know if it's the best way, but I just put them in pill bottles and rolled up ziplock bags and place them in my crown royal bag. Actually I just cracked like 6 seeds that I've had for about 3 or more years and all of them cracked besides one.
