what to grow outdoor near alicante?

Hi all!
sorry for not speak spanish!
a friend of mine is moving to alicante 'couse he got an house from his relatives.
He'd like to grow something in the sunny weather of spain and he was making a lil research to find some strains that can be easily grow there. (i think he will have an holiday there before the end of april and back after the end of september)
any advice in welcome! fdb

also we know (from magazines) that there are some strains that spanish growers love like: guerrilla gusto, critical mass, critical plus, that seems to be resistant to the dry season.

Not heard mention of GG here, IMO the "critical" obsession here is just a willy waving thing, it is crap weed, but grows big buds ... wow... htere is plenty of weed that grows nice fat buds without the rubbish buzz....

Moroccan plants are [very weak] allegedly pretty droughtproof, but when you see what they actually look like you realise it is not really worth bothering with... IMO...

What you need is some kind of watering system and/or a friendly gardener, plenty of tradespeople in Spain are very used to seeing plants at peoples houses, if you do not go too mad you will have no problems at all.

If you are not really around till October, do not plant any early flowerers, apart from that, you can grow pretty much anything you want.

the GG make me smile! Here in italy gg is presented as one the "spanish" strains.
and the critical things looks similar to the "big bud" in holland. tnx again!

No worries, I think GG has Spanish history, but it is notable for being an early Indica, not much else, and you do not need ... or want "early" ...... ;-)

Spanish 'Critical' refers to 'Critical Mass' from MrNice which is Big Bud [alegedly slightly improved, but still a poor quality, though strong buzz] .... the Spanish love it, it is often called 'Critical Bilbo' ... as in Bilbao where iirc the growshop there had something to do with it......

Hi hombres!

tnx to your tips my friend is happy to let all we know that he has found a gardner that will help him with his plants. So now we're just waiting the crop for a nice bbq/smoke session
some of the stuff he will put in soil: ssh, ww, early girl and some of his own crosses

CC: if i don't remeber bad few years ago the shantibaba's critical mass won one of the spanish cups, and now there's a femminized version (done by a spanish seedbank) called critical plus, but all this infos i got come from magazines not from spanish friends.
