Need help mixing Promix HP and worm castings

Hi!

I need help on how to mix the Promix Soil and worm castings in regards to LC Recipe #2.

I have a 3.8cft bag that is square shaped and seems to be compressed. The worm castings is a 30lb bag and is more loose.

Do I have to fluffen up the Promix soil? Do I need to pack it down when filling the containers? Lightly pack it? Any help would be great. Here's a pic of what I have:

you need to measure out the individual parts of LC's mix and mix them together either in a large rubbermaid or on a tarp of some kind. so for example to make 10 gallons of LC's mix you would add 5 gallons of pro mix, 3 gallons of perlite, and 2 gallons of earth worm castings.

just bust open the bale of pro-mix in a wheel barrel or on a tarp and mix it all together so it`s evenly distributed and mix it dry it`s easier to work with that way. once its all mixed together wet it slightly then fill your containers, it kinda expands when wet, then water it again don`t pack it down it needs to stay fluffy to get air to the roots.

if you want to get critical about it... you can add parts in whatever way you want, if it's compressed in your "measuring device" then all parts should be compressed.. if it's just tossed in there.. you get the point.

honestly, with ewc you have some room for error and doesnt have to be dead on. use you're best judgement and let it cook together for a week or two and you'll be good to go!

Go to B1´s Organic for beginners and follow the instructions there.

I like to fluff the peat moss. And Pro-mix has lime in it so just add ONE level TBS per gallon.

EWC will never burn your plants so no worries there on exact amounts.

Do not forget to add 30% perlite to the total volume of mix.

Wow thanks for telling me that. I guess the LC recipe should be revised or a note appended to it.

This is all being recorded in highdef and the Youtube channel is up but not live yet. First video is uploaded already and by tonight the germiniation video should be up. I'll record the soil mix video today.

I'm really trying not to stray off course or 'break rules' when it comes to the nutes/soil mix and following proper direction.

Hey Vonforne one other thing,

LC Recipe #2 (the one that I'm using) says that 20% of my container should be perlite.

LC Recipe #1 says 30%.

Where you confusing the two?

Thanks!

No, I always use 30 %. In all of my mixes. It is just the amount I feel good with.
