What's new

Dubi please help with my hobby breeding question.

I am looking for some stable fresh genetics to start a hobby project. I am interested in your Bangi Haze or Nepalese Jam. Which of these two is more stable, from what I have read it looks like the Bangi is? Also would you mind comparing the effects of the highs and flavors for me?
I want to create my own line using one of your fairly stable sativa lines as the father and DJ shorts Vanillaluna as the mother. I plan to do the initial cross and then take them to f4 or f5. If you were to breed these which would you do?

Vanillaluna x Bangi Haze

or

Vanillaluna x Nepalese Jam

Also if their are any other stable sativa strains that I might have over looked? Thank you for any and all help.

In my opinion, why not cross with the Verde Limon if it has time to be reproduced or the pure Guatemalan? The VL has the 'Blueberry Sativa' in it so it has good chance of the old mexican that DJ used so maybe crossing with a mexican or mexican like strain could help bring some of those traits out to improve the strain? Otherwise why not messege some people who have worked with the Bhangi haze or Nep Jam as some have bred with it especially in the UK so maybe they have better ideas about the workings of them?

What are your goals for the breeding project? Do you want to pep up the high of the VL or tone it down? I am running the Tikal(75% Guatemalan sativa the rest "Kush/Haze") and the growth is very vigorous and from what I'm hearing it may be one of those strains that nobody buys when it's available but everyone bitches about when it's gone.

Good morning Tolkin Bowls,

Both Nepalese Jam and Bangi Haze would be great choices for a inbreding hybrid project. Bangi Haze makes taller crosses, less yielding but more euphoric than Nepalese Jam. NJ adds very high yields, earliness and cold resistance when outcrossed.

DJ indica inbred lines usually produce great crosses with pure sativas. You get the lovely blue aromas and flower structure but effect will be more on the sativa side.

There are very nice recommendations in this thread. Guatemala or Tikal would be also interesting for outcrossing.

Thank you all for your very informative replies. I will take some time to reflect on this matter. I will keep you guys informed on my decision and progress.

Weedninja - My goals are to give the VL a more souring and euphoric high. Can the Tikal be grown indoors?

Limeygreen - The pure Guatemalan sounds very interesting to me but, I could not find it on Seed Boutique.

dubi - Thanks for your reply. I think the bangi haze sounds like the right choice for me. Will there be any pure Guatemalan on Seed Boutique?

Then I would go with the Bangi, Guatemalan, or Verde Limon if it's available. I would also consider the Oldtimer's Haze; it'll add several weeks to your finish time, but damn that cross sounds good.

Yes. If you check the Tikal thread in this forum, it has been done before and I am trying to grow it indoors now.

Good luck with your project, I hope you get a winner.

Good day Tolkin Bowls,

Of course, Tikal can be grow indoors. Flowering time is around 10-12 weeks, final size is similar to indoor panama, a little bit more compact and branchy.

Our new genetics are only available in our website by now.

I look forward to the new release of the Oldtimer's Haze and would also love to check out another of your pure sativa selections. Should I just keep an eye out at the Ace site for the new gear? Thanks dubi.

Peace,
M

We have found 2 last Oldtimer's Haze 1 x 6 packs from past 08 reproduction. Will be uploaded in our website in the next hours.

You can expect many haze suprises for the next months like green haze x panama, purple haze x panama, green haze x meao thai, purple haze x meao thai etc ...

I hope it helps.

Thanks dubi. Do you expect much difference in the new release vs. the 08 breeding of Oldtimer's. I'm just curious.

Hello Mr M,

Well, not exactly the same. Past Oldtimer's Haze offering was green line 1x6 inbred. Now different purple haze and green mothers (not related to 1x6 line) will be pollinated by 2 selected 1x6 male.
