doing this for sh*ts and well you know....y not?
5gl bucket
1-42w cfl
cups filled with promixHP,wormcasts
3 kinds of bagseed.. was 2 kinds bagseeds and 3 superskunks but the SS didnt germ so i replaced with more bagseed a few days later!

would you need any type of ventilation in a setup like this or can you simply put a bulb in a closed area?

i cut a 4" hole towards the bottom of the bucket.
the plastic globe that holds the 42w cfl has 2-3"x4" section cut out.
have a comp fan i may try and eather have that blowing in fresh air threw the bottom and out the top or suck the air out the top causing fresh air to come in the bottom hole.

i think if the top was open with the bulb just hanging in the middle you mite not need and fan.

bagseeds all doing well here on day 4, the lazy Superskunk cracked its shell and just laid there..the other 2 superskunks cracked there shell but i think they are also going to be duds..I think the SS seeds are just to old..i have had good luck with 5- 8 year old seeds but i think these are just bad..F'2 beans

bumba seeds went into the soil that the superskunks tried to germ in..i took the superskunk out and put the bumba beans in,this way ill have more strains going and ill see if it was the soils fault why the SS didnt germ or it was the beans.!? lol

how not..?
if it was 1 sq/ft it would be 42w per sq/ft..this bucket is 0.66 sq/ft ..so it is under 1 sq/ft so you take 42w/0.66 sq/ft = 64w per i should say 64w ina 0.66 area/bucket.. the more lite you stick in a smaller type area increases watts per sq/ft. if i was to put a 100w cfl in the bucket it would be 151 watts per 200w in that area is 303w per area. for good measure you want atleast 30-60 watts per sq/ft for good solid growth

he is saying that the total wattage per sqft would be 64w, if he was growing on one sqft. His space is only 0.6 sqft big though

Say, you have 100w on 1 square foot. Light intensity is 100w/sqft
Now you have the same bulb, but only 0.5 square foot. light intensity is 200w/sqft, because the SAME amount of light is used on LESS space. Therefore, total amount of wats per suare foot goes up!

mOOn - the new boards work differently then before.

To get you started:

- Go down to where you post, then; use Advanced when posting.
- I personally like to use WYSIWYG mode - by clicking the funny-looking "A", @ the top right-hand corner of the message compose box, but this isn't vital..
- Insert images by clicking the [Insert] label, in the My Photos pane, just under the emoticons.
- Wait for your galleries to pop-up, you can insert images by just clicking on the desired image in that pop-up, it'll lay-in the proper HTML into the message box, where you left the curser in the msg. compose box.

I was confused for a while, and still haven't really gotten to the point where I feel comfortable w/ it.
