Super Granddad ever heard of it?? Take a look!

So here's a strain I was told is called Super Granddad from Upper Lake area supposedly some local strain. I tough it was just another Master Kush cuz they were looking similar as cuttings but they have show different traits in flower and smell different so this is something I've never had or seen and I'm curious if anyone has heard of this Super Granddad?? It produces big sticky lime green buds was all he said and it was one of his favorites over everything else he had given me...

The pics were taken in week 3 of flower and any help would be much appreciated :joint:

Alright I know that pic doesn't say much no wonder I don't have nothing but views, well I have some updated pics of this plant at 40 days

So there she is at 40 and 41 days and smelling like lemons and it's day 42 today at the calyxes are swelling up and you can see it's a Kush of some kind for sure, I just got a confirmation from another member here that has heard of it before and said it came from some bagseed up north and I got the clone from Clearlake so it's very possible that's how this strain was found either way Super Granddad is getting even more frosty and more lemony each day! I'll update in a few days

From what I was told it has NOTHING to do with GDP and doesn't turn purple, it's a Kush of some sort from what I can see

Yea this strain has taught me to be patient with strains cuz I started my first grow with Thunder Goo then got Maui Wowi Tooty Fruity and both of them kick out tons of resin in the first 2-3 weeks of flower and it was how I was judging if a strain was good(noobish and stupid I know) but after growing out the Mendo Purple Master Kush and this which both started to pack on more frost later in flower I know I need to wait...

Here's what a fellow member had to say about it...

hey bro. just saw your posts in the socal thread concerning an I.D. of your super platinum master og granddad purple kush!? crazy how people come up with crazy names for s1's eh?

anyways, i've got a buddy who came across this clone about 7 months ago. Not sure if its the same as yours but the bud/leaf/growth structure looks identical. His plant doesn't have the sick looking leaves like you do but other than that it matches your description to it. Pretty much its a s1 or bagseed from some cali kush bag of weed.

"my buddy bought the clone and some herb from a cali club, the herb contained two seeds....he sprouted one and it produced a plant identical to the clone but grew faster, shorter, and a slightly different smell than the clone."

the clone had more of a lemon "kush" sweet undertone to it and grew slow. My buddy's seed had the "kush" smell to it and was more fruit dominant.
he ended up getting rid of the clone and kept the bagseed of it.
i'll try and find pics or cruise by and get pics of his as he has some in flower now.

I wonder what club in Cali he got it from cuz this one came from Patients Choice in Upperlake and the owners brother who's a friend of mine said it's special and is his favorite over all the others and when it comes in there usually isn't very much of it All I know is I want to hear from some more people up north who have smoked or grown this strain and she's staying in my garden for sure and will be making babies in the future over here at Nor Cal Genetics haha name is probably already taken

And we have another update at day 43 as she's getting fatter every day and the lemons are really coming out!! I wonder what the lineage is on this it looks like it's in the OGK family to me

I wish some more people who might know about this strain and what's in it would come chime in or any experienced Kush growers to give their :2cents:

Well everybody my camera is dead but I see signs of this being a PURPLE STRAIN!!! Still smells like lemons but has another funk I can't quite call yet coming through and the calyxes are really swelling up!! I'm only taken this girl to 49-55 days but next time I'm going 60-63 days and see if she goes fully purple inside out!

off topic but i cringe everytime i see tmv now....

did you ask your friend if he found a seed in an elbow or something, sow it, and take some clones and give one to you (sounds like a logical explanation to me)? you need to confront your source man and squeeze the info out. bottom line though it doesn't matter what it is, as long as it smokes well.

i don't know man i have aquaintances that operate co-ops... i don't take the clones they try to give me - they don't know shit about growing plants, only selling buds... HYDRO SHOP OPERATORS ARE THE DUDES TO GET CUTS FROM IME/IMO

Has a Kush kinda grow structure but its all guesswork unless you can track down where the guy got it or more seeds. Good luck either way.

Alrighty folks I hunted down the gentics of this baby and got it straight from the source instead of the fucker in between who I got it from and it is called Super Granddad and it's a cross of Super Silver Haze and Grand Daddy Purple!!!!! I have new pics to share that I will upload later so stay tuned...

Well I already have a SSH mom and I can smell her in it a bit and feel the uplifting sativa buzz in it but at the same time it knocks you back so you're couch locked with the sativa body high with a heavy indica head buzz and thats at being chopped at 54 days... Next time I'm taking it to 63 days or more and we'll see how it is then
