DIY Cab Scrubber

This is my idea for a diy cab scrubber thats reuseable and easy to maitain. Wouldnt cost much to construct either. Havent tested yet, just thought of it. Will try soon. This could just sit on top of your cab.

is 11 the diameter of the inner filter element? If it is, that filter size would give you about 103 sq inches of surface area on the inside of the filter. Which turns out to be about the same as a 4" inner diameter filter that is 8.5" long. That doesnt sound too hot till you take into account the fact that youve got 1.5" of charcoal to pass through. I'd go with chunky carbon to give you a bit faster air flow. Even with the faster air flow, because you have a greater depth of charcoal to go through, the exposure time and smell removal will be comparable.

I like the squished, large diameter filter design. IMO its easier to design into cabs since it can be placed right on the ceiling and not protrude far into the cab. If I didnt go with the a carbon bed, I would have went with a DIY filter like this.

Ok but how are you going to get the charcoal in there? Get a filter that fits and a filter that is smaller than the diameter of the one that fits and fit the charcoal in between those? I could work.

Yes put the charcoal between the filters. These air cleaners are rated at over 800cfm on automobiles. I would go w/the smallest filter that will fit inside w/out covering the hole on bottom. Put cotton in the very center. For the inner filter you may have to go to pep boys and look. There is basically 4 parts. A flat base, an inner filter, an outer filter and lid. Remember to get the flat base not recessed. Summit Hi Perf has these around 15 dollars.
