FloraNova Bloom Problem, please HELP!

Hello,
Been using FloraNova Bloom for about 3 weeks. pH was low, like 5.2 for about a week...but is now staying between 5.8 and 6.1 since getting new pH meter. There are 3 NL girls and right now ppm 600-700 for about 4 days. The ppm is staying very stable, not moving up or down, but pH creeps up.
Thought the problem might have something to do with low humidity, but have raised that up and things are still bad. Older growth started to get rust spots and some crisped up. Now some of the newer growth is getting spots starting at the tips. Dont think it is nute burn. It looks like rust freckles, and one has newer growth clawing down a tad.
There is also purple stems and the leaves are very thick and almost fake feeling. Please help, they are growing alot...but look bad! This is the first time using FNB, so any tips or sugggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks.

Pix and a completed infirmary form, please.

Low humidity will give that dull leathery look to leaves.

Down claw means overfeeding. The spots could be from the swing in ph.

Reduce the dosage a little, and keep that ph stable and keep an eye on them.

im having same problem with tap water coming out at 8.2 and im cross checking my tri meter with the pens ph and ppm.I add fng first then voodoo juice and pirhana to my res about 16 gals.my ppm are lock at 660 and ph at 8.1 then i wait for 12-24 hrs ph is like 7.8 so i add alot of the orange ph down liquid and my ppm shoot up to a 1000 and ph is only at 6.5 i thought fn would help stabalize ph? could it be weather fluctuation.??? im baffled

I have noticed this with dwc as well, and I think I have figured it out. I noticed that the floranova bloom acually lowered the ph of my water. As the nutes dislove in the water and brake down because the oxygen in the water the ph slowly rises back up. The ppm's stay the same because the nutes are just broken down, not gone.

The leaves sound a little like overfeeding. to me

pictures help immensly. I can describe a phosphorous deficiency all day, but without a picture no one will have a clue.

purple stems - could be from the strain, could also be from the gro area being too cold
leaf curl (claw) - usually nute related issue, flush recommended
crispy leaves - either nute related or heat burn from lights being too close (should have a 400W HPS within 8-10 inches of canopy, but farther if plants get burned)
Rust spots - I'd guess a calcium def due to the RO water, have you added any CalMag?

Post some pics and someone more knowledgable than I will be sure to stop by :)

OldSchoolFarmer,
Sorry no pics. 2 of 3 had purple stems from the start, and the temps were perfect...temp went down last week for a couple days because of weather. The only thing that was different from the start was pH was low and so was humidity...both have been fixed for a couple weeks now.

The biggest one had slight claw on new growth.
The light is plenty far away, almost 3 feet.
Did not use cal-mag, bumped up pH to 5.8-6.0 to compensate. This is the first time using FNB, never had issues before using Technaflora.

PPM went down last night, had them at 600-700 and the little one at 500-600. pH hovers around 5.7-6.0 Gonna take some clones soon and experiment with them. Maybe it is a strain thing, or nute problem. Never had to flush in DWC, what is the best way...dont want to kill them. They are one week into 12/12

FloraNova is essentialy the lucas formula in an easy to use bottle. As such, you'll want to use CalMag in addition to FNB.

To flush DWC, I use a submersible pond pump to empty the rez, then fill with plain water, then empty again, then fill with water + nutes.

Your light should be closer to the canopy. There's a chart somewhere that shows the lumens dispersal, IIRC 8 to 10 inches is ideal, after 18 inches it makes your HID lighting similar to a floro.

Oldschool,
Trust me, the light is not too far away, have used the same cab many times. Everyone knows the further you get the light away the less effective it is, but this is not the case in my cab. They never stretch, ever, and produces huge colas. Lighting is the least of the problems.

FNB is the lucas in a bottle, but Cal-Mag is not always used in the Lucas formula...it is strain dependent. Never used FNB or Cal-Mag, and if things stay this way will never use it again! Raising the pH to 5.8 should eliminate the need for Cal-Mag, but not the case here. Will buy it if it will help!

How long did you flush for? Have you ever used FNB? Could using it at 700ppm be too low and causing problems? The ppm barely moves, so a lil affraid to push the ppms. Thanks for the help!

1300-1400 ppms is what is needed

And 5.8 is the worst spot for mg

I raised my ph 2 6 and things got worse i lowered it to 5.3 and the got better but not all the way

Not sure whats going on but the ph of 6 sounds retarted the nutes should be aviable at 5.2-5.7
