What's up guys? Just getting started out here on ICMag...have been a member of PlanetGanja for awhile and used to be on OG as well.

Finally decided to upgrade my equipment. Was running a 150 HPS for awhile, with semi-okay results. Got my refund check from school, and decided to invest some money in better equipment.

First pic's of the setup. Running a Hortilux 1000w HPS in an Xtrasun Aircoolable reflector, powered by a 1000w non-convertible :)sad:) Hydrofarm SG Magnetic Ballast.

Next up this is the carbon filter I bought. It's a 26" x 12" Hydrofarm Carbon Filter. 2.5" of Activated Charcoal all around (if I remember correctly).

The fan I got is a Vortex High Output 452 CFM blower. Shit's powerful haha.

Finally, here's a shot of how we hung the light. Used porch swing hooks, dog chain, and a couple of those spring loaded clips that people use for their keys.

Plan is to build a room, 11 x 15. Going to run an 8x11 flower room and a 6x11 veg with a 6" wall between the two. For right now, we're going to box off a 4x4 or 5x5 area of the room with Panda Film (black/white poly) to run the single 1,000 in until we can get a few more lights. Planning on running the 150 HPS for veg along with some T5's (which haven't yet been purchased).

Right now the plants in the pics are just some random bagseeds from shit I've picked up over the last year. Sprouting 20 NYCDxLUI beans that I grabbed off a friend this week. Also have 5 Kalichakra fem seeds that a friend in Norway sent me :)

Will be mixing soil in the next couple days. Grabbing Pro-Mix, Perlite, and Worm Castings. Going to do a 50%, 25%, 25% ratio, respectively.

Updates will be coming on a weekly basis (hopefully). Construction on the room should start this week and will be done rather quickly.

Any and all comments and advice are greatly appreciated. Should be a good ride; come along :)

Peace,
H4TD

Soooo here's a few shots from a couple days ago (3/10).

This is what I walked into when I checked out the root systems in the cups.

Obviously, we needed to transplant. So we ran to the Hydro shop and grabbed 20 - 3 gal grow bags along with these :)

Went about transplanting everything, and mixed up some half strength nutes to water. Popped 10 NYCD x LUI Beans in the ground, and here's what we ended up with:

...and one more:

Finally, here's a side shot of one of the bag seeds we're running. Boy am I glad we experimented with these first :p

Also, we moved the light to 24" above the canopy...plants were looking a little yellowed (couldn't determine if it was nute def or light bleaching) so we'll see how they look next week!

That's all for now, thanks for looking and as always, any comments and advice are greatly appreciated!

Peace,
H4

EDIT: Forgot to mention, used Promix BX for base soil, mixed 3-1 with worm castings.

Looking good Veda!

Headed up to the house early in the AM. It's kinda early AM now considering it's 3 lol...but I just walked in the door. Crazy night.

Smoking a blunt and calling it quits. More tomorrow.

Peace,

Contrary to the date on the pics, these are from just a few minutes ago.

Coming along rather nicely now that they have some food and good soil :)

9/10 of the NYCD x LUIs we planted sprouted. Planning on topping the ones that are taller now next week and allowing the NYCD x LUIs to catch up before the switch.

Enjoy.

As you can see, we used some styrofoam that was lying around as a reflective surface until we can throw up a room. Seems to be working okay.

Thanks for looking! Any feedback is appreciated!

Styrofoam works. Hell, those styrofoam insulation boards you can get at Home Depot serve as both a good reflective surface AND a good insulator.

Looks good man, +rep
