Our Hattori Damascus Chef's Knife (Santoku) is the finest of its type. The blade is hand forged from Cowry X powdered steel laminated between two pieces of Damascus patterned material made of alternating layers of nickel and stainless steel. In all, the blade consists of more than 360 layers. The blades are individually heat treated and tempered to Rockwell 63-65. This process gives a blade with an exceptionally sharp long lasting edge. The handle is resin impregnated black linen micarta with a nickel bolster to enhance the beauty of the knife. To protect your investment, each knife is sent in a wooden box with the maker's chop (stamp) of authenticity. Blade length is 7˝ and overall length is12˝.

Hattori History

Over 30 years ago Tadashiro Hattori began supplying knives on an OEM basis to top Western knife makers. For example, he manufactured the Techna TK-2200 and a folding field knife used by U.S Navy Special Forces. Moreover, he has supplied knives used in movies like the Terminator and the Rambo series. A few years ago he began making knives under his own Hattori label. Mr. Tadashiro invented the Damascus metal process which consists of nickel and stainless steel forge welded by hand into multiple thin layers to create the Damascus pattern. He states that all of his KD30 series of Kitchen knives are strictly made by hand, and no two blades are exactly the same

Added some cayenne, garlic, onion salt, ground pepper. Very Hawaiian!

I shoulda grilled a big slice of pineapple...Instead I chose bacon.

Most times I'll do chicken with the Teriyaki glaze and I'm a HUGE fan of scallions. When you said pineapple. that immediately lept to mind.I do a chicken Hawaiian dish, i'll have to make it now :D

Time for me to start tempting the neighbor. Nobody can grill a steak like swampdank. I got it on lock.

Ribeyes and Strips, mesquite smoked and rested. Cut in to paper thin strips layered across the plate and drizzled with melted garlic butter.

Saw the picture of the knife you wanted, it's a good solid knife.. it's a very expensive and for my point of view only for does people who works in kitchens day and night.

On job i use - Zwilling Twin Cermax m66 serie. Razor sharp egde melted with 3 different carbon steals and it's easy to have sharp all the time.

If you have good handling with the knife - try'em out ;) prize in denmark goes from 1400 to 3600kr for these knifes..

I used to be a professional Chef, not anymore though. Hope to open a place sometime...

I'll have to check out those knives you mentioned. I really like the Hattori, even though it is a bit over kill. However, I have spent at least 1350 on knives up until this point, so instead of running through a bunch of substandard knives, I figure I might as well get something that will last, and something I can maybe pass down...

I fixed Beef Stroganoff last night. Slow cooked it for about 8 hours, then topped some egg noodles. I tried using cream cheese, instead sour cream, and was not that impressed. Still good though. Didn't take any pictures.

I am thinking about doing some pulled pork sandwiches tonight, or maybe some pork chops, or a pork loin. Some kind of pig is gonna get cooked!

Mmm. I will have to find that pork roast recipe for ya CTSV. You gotta have a big cast iron pot for it to come out right. Once that juice gets reduced in that pot, and caramelized, WOW what a meal.

by the way. you knife guys make me jealous... ive been wanting a nice knife forever. sadly though i can afford to spend that kinda money. im always jelous when we goto hiabachi and the chefs have those really sharp knifes that look like they will julien a concrete block.. someday.... someday...

Man! I love a good soup in a bread bowl. this place in Big Sky used to serve White Bean Chicken Chili in a bread bowl.

Ultimate comfort food!

I'm a big fan of Stouffer's products, not all of them but most are delicious.......
This sandwich is no exception, steak n' shrooms w/cheddar cheese sauce.






The finished product is close to the packaged image which is always a plus imo.

Eurgh that kind of processed food makes me want to cry.

Rare tuna steak, just seasoned with salt and pepper, homemade homous and salad with a simple Italian dressing.

So healthy, and unbelievably tasty, alas no camera.

yea its healthy cheap and tasty.

tonight i had a bowl of beans rice cheese and salsa with some tortilla chips the mexicans made up the street.

also very tasty and cheap
