very impressive grow THC123

i was thnking maybe going greenhouse next year as ive ditched the idea about growing outside in the garden as ive had a bitch from the neigberhood sniffing around on y property when i wasnt home
shes a smoker herself and cant have avoided to have seen my outdoor harvest last year.
Getting a new guard dog soon and im thinking of getting a GH instead of abandoning the outdoor grow

i was thinking of making a cheap one myself with 1 inch pvc pibe ( around 2 euro a meter here) and reinforced plastic shedding like this http://www.harald-nyborg.dk/merinfo.asp?varenr=3823&n=10
a piece of 8x12 m costs around 90 euro here

ive seen some nice homebuilt ones that had 2 layers of plastic with some netting in between
this makes it stronger and makes some insulation also

btw
for mold i wouldnt use a gas heater at night as 1 l of gas makes 2 liters of water when burned
better with a petrol/diesel heater and maybe some additional electric dehumidifier

other than that im trying to learn a bit more about greenhouse growing as it seems theres some mold issues with it, but it prolongs the growing season and hides the plants better, which are very good things

Thx

Well i would certainly build a GH , especially cuz u live in denmark , belgium is cold and humid , but denmark even more so.

I did'nt know that about the gas , thx 4 the heads up.

There are mold issues in a GH but still it is nothing compared to growing outside.

Important thing with a GH is air circulation. SO i blow in 1000 kubic metres of air in the GH each hour , the GH is 84 kubic meters. i also keep mixing the air with 2 oscilating fans to avoid dead spots.

U will see u will get much nicer buds then just outside and u will have a choice between more strains.

2 layers of plastic is recommendable especially in our cold countries.

I will follow ur topic if u plant to make a GH

See here the difference , the same strain sweet afghani del., one plant outside and one in the GH

The one outside smells herby spicey , the one in the GH very sweet

Outside(harvested early due to wayyyy too much mold

Gh
(also mold but i could harvest her ripe) Much less mould(it gets 80-90% in the GH at night :()

im still hooked on the greenhouse idea
mostly for security but also as i can use later strain that cant finish outside here

ive given the idea more thought and come up with an improvement so far
instead of netting between the 2 layers of plastic im thinking of using some bubble plastic instead

i can get a version with large bubbles here for about 1 dollar pr m2.
so one layer of plastic, one layer of bubble plast and finaly one layer of plastic again
i hope it wont block too much sun
if not its a cheap durable and insulated solution that i think should be able to withstand weather for at least 5 years or more if the frame construction is up to it

Which strain is that? looks good.

I will put only ONE frisian dew plant in full ground next year. Read end september - half october(depends on pheno) , the effect is good enough and it is quite mold resistant plus it gives monster yields.

Hi THC,

The purple plant was a cross I made by myself, a NYCD mother with a Blue Top daddy, frost resistant, incredible fast growing and crazy huge buds but all kind of fluffy.. That plant you saw on the picture was close to 1 year old, i have put a few seeds in the soil around October and this was the only one which germinate and she survived the whole winter without any heater! During the growing season I have been cutting her twice almost back to one meter height, it was not possible anymore to fit her in my greenhouse..

I did not have mold in 3 out of 4 stains this year, quite good!

I have seen a few reports about Frisian dew this year, nice huge plants and for outdoor quite mold resistant but the grower was not happy at all with the taste of the final result.. But that will be highly phenotype dependent, maybe you will have the good one!

I'll follow your growing activity, and when the time is there I will start a topic as well..

Peace!
