I have some stuff that is two weeks into flower at this point. I'm just starting to get the pre-flowers to really start to show up. Is it too late to take clones or will I have to reveg them after harvest?

thanks!

I took 7 clones from a plant that just started showing flowers. Can't remember how many days into flowering she was but anyway 7 out of 7 rooted and lived happily for 8 weeks after that :)

the furtherst into flowering i've tried has been 14 days into 12/12 (NL#5xHaze) and both rooted fine, think it was 12 + 13 days to root,
i've read around the forum some growers have even taken clones as late as 40 days into 12/12, rooted under 24 hours light and still managed to root them:joint:

Two weeks should be no problem , clones taken on harvest day will mostly survive but the later in the longer it takes.

You need a proven method that will reliably root vegging clones in 3 - 5 days , sitting around for weeks encourages mould and yellowing.

I have settled on a bubble cloner running at a nominal 68 f and it works fine.
This one taken at 40 days took ages but grew away well.

I believe that it would be fine to sex the plants first before cloning them. This, for me, helps because I dont have the space to takes clones from all my seed grows (the only way I generally grow as I am not able to get clones) and I can just take clones from my females.

My cuts are 5 our of 5 cut at about 3 weeks of flower, took like 13 days in the bubble cloner to get to the point were there roots started growing side roots.

3-4 weeks at latest is my recommendation..actually at 2 weeks they will root faster then from veg...just my 2 cents

Deff agree with that, took 3 cuts about 2/3 weeks into flower, they had roots in like 12ish days, and took 2 more cuts 6 days after the first 3, and they had roots after 6 days, crazy stuff there.........:yoinks:

Try this twist. I took the cola top at 32 days into flowering. Used a Dairy Queen medium hot fudge sunday container (instant mini greenhouse), stuck the cutting with rooting hormone into the Pro-Mix, covered it and set the "greenhouse" on my window sill on Feb 12th. Uncovered about 23 days later and she had rooted. Let her sit in the container without the dome until she was drying out every 2 days. Just transplanted her into a 6" Lily pot and she is now begining to re-veg under 18/6. This was a Strawberry Diesel x NYCD f1 that was perfect. The rest of her body is seeded and drying out nicely. I got about 5 beans from her today. This girl is going to LIVE!

it can actually be quite fun to clone 'buds' in the later stages. had a blueberry back in the day we took cuttings from, had to be 40-50 days in. took awhile, but the one that rooted shot 5 or 6 little tops outta the bud and turned into a FREAK BUSH of a plant!--always take more than one if its in later stages, depending on the strain you might lose some of the cuts.
