the best way for you to run perp baba is to build three boxes to sit your tubs on, first one to bring them up to the height of the tallest, second one half that height and the last one at 1/3 that height.... i run soil still so i just use the pots that i just cut as my initial stands and remove soil as i need to keep the levels right, thats how i have indicas and sativas all in a 4x4 closet right now, otherwise i wouldnt get anything from my indica ladies!

rule two for you wold be to keep all the same variety in each bucket so you dont have the issues of needing to flush one while the rest is still flowering.... keep each tub as a different variety so you dont get bored all the time!

El Professor: Nice budshot! Those look like perfect, frosty little indicas. How's the yield on those?

Don't Step: If I went perpetual in a tent, I'd definitely do coco in handfed pots. I'd have one 5 gallon bucket of full strength nutes (6ml micro, 9ml bloom per gallon) and one 5 gallon of plain ph adjusted water, and alternate between the two as needed. Supplements (floralicious, sweeteners, flushers) would be added to each pot depending on how weeks they were in; each pot would be labeled by strain and date of birth (which is when they went from clone to veg).

A Bird: Thanks bird! I hope things get bigger and better from here on out!

Johnny B: Yeah, I could put an 18 gallon tub on top of an empty one to put plants closer to the light. But 15 gallons of water makes an awful heavy tub, not sure if a tub can withstand that kind of weight from above. I mean, it probably could, but i wouldn't be surprised if some break...
It took me a while to understand but i get what you do: After harvesting a pot, you sometimes leave the pot in the flowering chamber and set a new pot on top of it. No need for benches that way... That's a pretty good reason to use actual pots instead of grow bags...
I always keep the same variety in a tub. It does limit the number of different strains I can run at one time to four, but I think that's a decent amount of variety. Not a lot, but ok.

whats up fellow midwesters,,,doing perpetual myself and i love it
waddup profesor left you a messsage in the ky/oh growers thread i am from around your way,,, love the looks of that purple plant nice,,, hope all have great grows and bountiful harvests,,,representing the OH,,,
oh btw baba,,,johnnyb got the right idea i se buckets and 2x4's to even my canopy,,,peace all

Baba- Nice setup and it's cool see some other people grow in such small areas, but reap great harvests.. I have been growing my own strain for a while called white ice and have it pretty dialed in now. But this last crop is last of those seeds, but I'm glad as I'm bored with the high now. I also have about 50 seeds of a cross a friend made in cali. I have not popped any of these yet, so time will tell how they do. I also have some GH seeds waiting but do not like their genetics-over hyped.
I have to say that some of the best weed I have grown is/was Block Head from way back when. This was about 8 years ago and if ya pm'ed Steve he would send ya some. It was weird pot as some loved it and some could not handle the high as it was as trippy as it comes. There was the perfect BH pheno which was hard to get, but I got it and the buds tell the story. Lots of people thought that BH was named because of what it did to ya, but it was actually the shape of the buds which were pretty much flat on top. Then there is Power Plant which is just an all around great strain and high. Not pure power plant like lots of people grow, but power plant. Here are a few pics of BH and PP from years back...
Peace out.

Prep has begun. I'll probably head out to the spot in early may to form a solid game plan, and then come back for diggin'/plantin' a couple weeks later.

I have a feelin' that this year in the creek valley, shit's gonna be a pain. I'm thinkin' that I'll have to dam off some overflow area and/or use a weird mid-creek delta, and hope we don't get any epic flooding.

Anyone have any good tips for battling the midwestern forest?

as you can see, i still do a little perpetual, so i am not laying dormant!

That is now gone as I moved since then. It could be a bear to grow as it was dense as hell. I could only grow it in the summer as the buds got so big that if RH was not perfect, they would mold up. This was the same as LUI, amazing pot all around, but dense buds that would mold as well. It's weird that some pot does this more then others.

hey baba, another trick is to plant a nine weeker and a thirteen weeker at the same time, leaving an empty spot for the third strain, then you can grow both at the sime time without adjusting height until its time to throw in the last one!

I Do Really: 2x4's, yes! That way you only need two pots to hold up a whole row of pots...

Green is Gold: Blockhead: squared off buds indeed. :rasta: How much longer do you think you're going to run the white ice, if you're getting somewhat bored with it? Do you like to mix up strains once every 12-18 months?

Oohcow: I've never grown outdoor before. Wouldn't really know how to go about it. I guess so long as you find secluded areas that hikers won't stumble across you're golden. Still, I think it'd be a bear to do. It's like, every Saturday you gotta lace up your hiking shoes to check out the plants... I guess if you're already into hiking it wouldn't be such a pain...

157: What's 'fli to the chi'? You near Chicago? I'm in the Chi, along with a few others here. What's the 'mitten', Michigan, because of its shape? You all have medical mj now, lucky bastids...

Mr Baker: Dam off an area... man, that sounds like a lot of work, even for a little stream. Hopefully you find a delta instead...

Johnny B: Thanks for the pics! Nice garden. At first I was like: why are some of that plant's colas budding and the others aren't? Now I see that they're plants at different stages, but at the same height. Nice, A+!
The nightmare diesel makes some fat colas! I like how it's actually bigger at the top and gets skinnier: that's a Louisville Slugger cola!
And that last pic, that's a lot of frosty trim right there... My Flo makes frost like that when I'm growing it good, but my colas never got really big...
What's the advantage of having a 9 and a 13 week strain together, with one spot open? Do you later fill the open spot with a 9 or a 13 weeker?

The NYCD tub is humming along, getting bigger by the day. I love that the bigger they get, the faster they grow...

Closeup of one of the tops.... No actual frost visible, but hopefully it's not too far away.

Some really nice plants going there jonnybgood and bababooey. I never got any good stuff like that when in was Illinois, and I lived all over the state. Mexican brick was it, even in Chicago. But I loved every bag of it back then. I guess I needed different friends or the internet or something. Glad things have changed for the better in that regard. Keep those lovely shots coming from the midwest. You might lure me back yet.

the advantages are that your perp garden starts off at different intervals right at the start... the next one can be any week strain that you want it to be, but will work best with another long flower. but if you stick in another 9 weeker in 4 weeks from the original, you will get that one finishing at the same time as the 13 weeker, allowing another double planting the same way, 1 9 and 1 13 weeker!

yeah baba thats the ticket i do it like that,,,it helps me in two ways as i flower both my sats and the indica doms together so i use the buckets and 2x4's to even canopy and just trim the sats bottom branches up to even with the bottom of the indicas once the stretch is over to maitain good airflow in around the stem and branches,,,,but i am no pro i was just looking for an easy solution,,, but the downfall is keeping them even during the stretch is a daily thing this way but, i am just a lil picky so i keep the canopy even throughout the grow lol,,,honestly do what works best for your situation and take the advice of others on here there are way more knowledgable people than me,,,another lil lazy man trick try to just build a lil 2x4 frame and put wheels on bottom makes moving to drain a lil easier,,,hope all works out,,,peace
great looking grow btw,,,loved the nycd in amsterdam
