timer failure-5hrs of light in 12/12

So I started flowering on the feb 12th...my lights come on at 8pm and are off at 8am.
I walked into the room at 1 am and the lights were off. FUCK. Iam not sure how long they have been like this but i would imagine for over a week.
I was wondering what the deal was because the tops of the plants have been a light yellow color and the growth has seemed slower then I am used to.

What do you guys think my consequences will be...reduced yield maybe i will have to wait an extra week to make up for the lost time? Or do you think it'll be all good...
check your timers frequently buddies!

I had a similar problem some time ago, my hps failed....:fsu: but noticed it 1 day after that happened and fixed it instantly. No problems during the grow, no slowth/ decreased yield at all. But it your case I think they will flower a little bit longer than usual, with no big differences in yield (at least if the problem is fixed now). A plant like cannabis needs not more than 5 hours plain sunlight everyday to flower properly.
Better few hours more darkness in flowering than few hours more light.
Hope this helps a little.

You should be fine.

I've had to suspend grows for 3-4 days at a time due to family visits or leaving town and the extended darkness shouldn't cause an issue.

I don't recommend doing it too often (at the maximum once per grow) but you shouldn't see any big drops in yield as a result.

The yellowing is due to the lack of light being absorbed by the plant. Chlorophyll, which is responsible for a plant's green color, is powered by light. No light means weak chlorophyll, which means the plant has a weak green color.

I use an industrial timer that controls my 250v subpanel....the off screw came loose and had moved itself to 1 am...so for around 7-10 days they have only been getting 5 hrs of light. Its the little, obvious mistakes a grower misses that sting the most!

I had a power outage once for 4 days before I finally was able to find a store that still had generators in stock.....every single plant in bloom (about 40 days into a 55 day strain) started throwing nanners. That's the worst case scenario BUT since you had at least 5 hours of light per cycle IMHO you won't have the nanners. After a few days the color will come back and they should be good to grow....hopefully

Yeah, Chomp said is what I am thinking. Ever heard of Reverse by Dutchmaster? I'd get some if you can and try to stave off hermies.

well its been 2 days and I can say the plants look better, greener and are drinking water at a much faster rate. Lets hope the buds play catch up.
I actually have some DM reverse on hand and will give em a good spraying whe I feel like normal growth has returned.
Thanks for the help friends.

Very nice set of plants there! yes, throw some Reverse on them (that's what I did when I screwed up my lighting) although I use it as a preventative generally.

Good luck.
