I plan on doing 8 plots of 4 or 3 plants per plot. I have mandala seeds mandala #1 and speedqueen and I might do a few hashberry.
All 8 of my plots are in and around a semi-heavy traffic state park lake. They are good spots with enough sunlight either in briar patches or thick woods where I feel people are less likely to go, and I have easy access cause all I have to do is park as if I'm a fisherman and I'll be carrying a fishing pole with me.
I plan on digging holes about 1.5 feet wide and long and 2 feet deep and lining them with trash bags with holes cut at the bottom. My soil mix is a third peat moss, a third compost and manure, and a third native soil with plenty of lime and water polymer crystals.
I'll be using 2 foot chicken wire around the plants until I think they are big enough to go without.
I shouldn't need too much fertilizer since I'll be using strains with low nutrient needs and using lots of compost and manure but I could use advice on when and if I should fertilize and how much I should use.
I'll be toting water from the lake to my plants. I shouldn't have to do this so often since I'm lining the holes with trash bags and using water polymer crystals. I was also thinking about spreading mulch around the plants to help keep water from evaporating. Is that going too far? Will my plants drown? Or is this a good idea?
This is only my second grow.. my first grow I did plots right off roads by farms and not one of my plots got found. So, I'm a little worried about doing this in a state park where people fish and there is some hunting but I think the hunting is on private property. How much should I be worried of park rangers or game wardens walking up on my plants? Out of 8 plots how many do you think will be found? Probably hard to say but any general advice on my plan would be appreciated.
