Hi everybody. i had a question about curing and i wanted to know the right answer. The bud i have drying right now is dry to the touch, but still a little spongey. Should i continue to let them dry or should i start putting them in jars?

what does the stem feel like? I wait until the bud is almost completely bone dry and the stem bends but does not break before I put them in jars. Then open the jars after about 24 hrs. and the bud should have sucked the remaining moisture from the stem to give back a little sponginess to the bud. Check the stems again and if they snap when bent then you can close the lids and start the cure. If there is still some moisture in the stems then you will need to burp the jars by leaving them open for 15 min. at a time a couple times a day. Hope this helps.

peace

Old Soul has got it - remember to watch for a musty/ammonia smell when you open the jars to check; if you get that, it was a little too early - take them out, set them out for a couple minutes, and then re-jar & check again in another 7-8 hours.
