Hi all, some of you might remember me from Cannabisworld an Cbay a few years back.
I'm from Maine and noticed that there is no thread about Maine's many strains.
Spring is not far away, well for me anyways, and I thought it would be nice to start a thread about those strains. Strains that work and don't work for our all to short growing season . Hope to hear from all the Maine-iacs out there:woohoo:

it was a very strong indica-type high... well acclimated... did better than most of the strains I bought!

Hey guys , just dubbin around and saw this thread. I'm also interested in our home strains. We got this strain called "crunk" which is a skunk x colorado big bud, and it is fantastic, awsome clean pine flavor and great buzz , def a staple in western maine for a few.

There is also a neat biker cut that i want to get my hand s on again called Triple D cause the biker is dead, his name was Dan and he stuttered. Had to chuck it cause it came so infested with mites.

Also a in/out mighty might/big bud /skunk that is OK --we call "pistol grippah" causse thats whatt the grower named the massive ball of bubble he made off last crop, :biglaugh:

Another one is an outdoor strain called "Bonzai" that a member here told me about , late Aug finish, hope to try that too

Peace

When I drink too much Gritty Mcduff's, I tend to break out my Eben impersonation. Been here all my life and have never come across any of those strains. Where the hell have I been. :chin::confused: Guess I need to get out more.
I have been running Biddy Early for the last 2 years and it's done by the end of Sept. Will also be running Early Queen from Mr. Nice and Mendecino Madness from TH Seeds for the first time.
I also run clones of a purple plant, that comes from a friend, in the form of a mother. It too is done by the end of Sept. But I have no idea what it is???!!! Crazy purple buds and the leaves remain mostly green. Nothing super special, but it sure is pretty!

I'm with Hold Your Fire, never heard of any of those strains.I definitely need to get out more.....lol.....

I just ordered some Time Bomb seeds [Legend's gear],hope they work here in Maine[central].

oh, Hold Your Fire, the purple strain could very well be the Cream Sodica, I grew it out a few years back. I picked it up on c-bay . Very nice looking stuff , finished around the first week of Sept. the high was so so....

I had pretty good luck with early queen the year before last... I've heard of bonzai bud... it's always going around Harry Brown's fest in the early fall.

I forgot to ask my burnham buddy about the redeye seeds... I'm helping him setup some indoor so I'll get him next time.

Good luck with those Time Bomb, Cadfael. What did you think of the EQ Doobie? I had 0/17 germ rate on those, I suspected they were from a bad batch from last winter/spring, and they were. A lot of folks were having germ issues with Mr. Nice at that time. 2/10 on the Biddy Early, doesn't look like either will make it. I've had germ issues with Magus in the past. 6/10 on the Mendecino Madness. The 6 are doing well. Due to poor germing, I'm going to order some Mandala #1, at least they are only $20.The purple strain def. looks better than it smokes.

I've heard the fests, do not have the same vibe any more. I went to 4 of the first 6 Hempstock fests. Had friends in a band that played one year. That last year, it was clear things had changed and I wasn't going back. Too bad, I had some GREAT times at that place!

We also had germ problems with our early queen... that was the year we ended up doing the burnham redeye.

Im going to give Mandala#1 a go this year, I've got them sexing out inside right now. Also going to try c99, and I've got a mom of old time moonshine which finished mid september last year.

Yea I'm interested in the C99 outdo too--one source up here says it finishes end of Sept, Doobie I got 2 JW males :woohoo:

Sounds great to have an OTM that finfiishes in mid sept, never thought it'd come in so early, hows that for a perfect in/out cut! wow...

I've found that the UDG Freezeland X's to be the some of the best performers--they really steal the show for yeild, quality and bag appeal. Himalayan Indica from gypsy is one I have high hopes for as a a super early

How bout this melt, it's like mud season already

I saw on a picture of a fella caring a huge c99 tree on his back. it looked like a small pin tree.
you could veg all winter and set it out when the weather permits. but if i lived up north which i did at one time live in Minnesota.i would deffenatly look into buying a green house.
i have been checking them out and you can find some reasonable. i have seen some build ther own out of pvc. and just buy the plastic .

yeah I am definitely looking into setting up a greenhouse in the spring.

highsteppa- Good news on the males! Mine started showing yesterday and I was pretty stoked. I'll have to try the Freezeland crosses next year, thanks for the tip!

Anyone tried the gorilla gold before?

yo doobie--
the GG is a great strain, bulks up early and finishes late aug to early sept depending on the pheno. There is also a less common sat expression of this strain(kona in its lineage) that is a bit later and not as strong, but still good. The GG has a very potent indica stone, happy stuff but too much will make it hard to work in the day. Def a line all us northerners should have in the fridge. short stout and fast!
