Jamie Shoes - Yup, it is too late to actually Scrog, but I could put up a barrier of sorts.. only thing is I have different plants with different heights so that is why I must be stuck with LST.

Baba - Those are 2L bottles cut down.. I just tossed some panda film around em to block the light to the roots.

Chiboons - I got it from Menards. It is closet maid brand.

No recent pictures, but the plants are doing well.

On Friday they got pure water. I tied all, but one of the Bubble Gums down at a slant.

Two of the bag seeds where males and have been disposed of. The female bag seed has more pistils than my other plants despite it is a fifth of the size.

If any of my NL are girls they are keeping they are keeping their legs crossed.

After 2 weeks without any medicine my tolerance level has dropped. I'm borrowing a volcano for the moment and yeah...I'm going back to my cloud :]

No digital camera to take pictures with :[

Plants got 1 T BB, 1/2 t TB, 1/4t OS tonight.

I added a tiny muffin fan that must only move like 30 cfm to the bottom of the cab.

I was working on LSTing a Bubble Gum and I accidentally super cropped. I've put a web cam in the cab that will take a picture every 5 mins so I can than put it in a sped up movie clip.

This is what the image looks like.

I'm going to be building a rubbermaid veg/clone setup here in a couple of days. No sex on the NL still.

Hey man, I've definitely pulled up a seat for this one...

My cab is roughly the exact same size as yours and I plan on using the 80 cfm whisper fan as well, however I think that I am going to use the low profile model. It's twice as loud as yours (0.4 to 0.8 sones) but should allow me to get 26" of head room for my flowering side. Have you looked into installing the hurricane tube? What are your temps like? I'm more than willing to turn on the ac come summer if I need to, but my place is situated so that it stays relatively cool.

It's exciting to see your cab in action, as well as all the successful bag seed you have growing. Can't wait to get my bag seed going.

Edit: What exactly do you mean by watering from the bottom up? I would assume that means putting the pots in a larger container and then pour the water into the larger container forcing water to go from the bottom of the soil and wick to the top. With the nutes, do you just prepare them in a gallon sized container and then water through the bottom for only the plants in that container? I'm assuming you don't pour a gallon of water through each of the 2L sized pots. Maybe if you just demonstrated how you water that would be great. I'm very new to this as well and even though watering is a simple process, sometimes you fail due to the simplest of reasons

Thanks for stopping by trippin_fool. I'll get my hands on a digital camera this weekend and take some new pictures!

I installed a 11x14 3/32 inch thick glass shield last night. Now, my room temperature will get down to 61F so I don't think I'm seeing the most of its benefit (it'll typically be a lot warmer). I put the exact same hydrometer on top of the glass and one underneath it. Top read 76F and bottom read 72F.

You have the watering understood correctly. The soil won't wick completely to the top, but it will get close. I planted my seeds in rapid rooters so all I had to do was touch to the top to see how moist/dry it was. I did this in veg, but i no longer am now for flower. I now water from the top and I just get it to drop a little bit out the bottom. The last two waterings I have used 1 gallon water for all the plants each time. I probably had about 2-6 oz of run off that I just waste.

If you water more frequently at smaller amounts you will get faster results. This is why hydroponics is quicker. In nature cannabis is allowed to have huge root mass, so because we grow in a container the roots eventually reach a barrier. That is why I water less frequently at larger amounts. I only water when the pots are nearly dry and you'll learn to tell the look of a thirsty plant. They'll look they've just died, but after water and a hour they will already responds...12 hours later and they'll be looking grand! Use the bottom watering for seedlings/vegative and it'll be impossible to over water them so you'll be able to learn just how much they use.

If I missed a concern you had let me know. These little things are whats makes a good grower :]

I've outfitted myself a Rubbermaid cloner/veg tub. It is 18 gal and I will hang 23W CFL from the underside of the lid. I painted the inside with 4-5 coats of latex flat white paint. I took a $1 extensions cord and All Purpose Goop'd to the lid... let it dry for 12 hours and it's holding the bulb up right now. Because will only be taking clones and it'll be 2-4 weeks before I'll veg. I'm going to use no ventilation to get the temperature up. I may have to add an extra 23W and I have a heating mat I could use as well. I don't think this will affect the plants because they will be in a dome anyway so what is the difference?

I have some Jiffy 7 peat pucks for cloning that I will just rest in a bed of perlite. Still no sex on any of the NLs!

Thats a really cool idea you have about the webcam. Are you going to make a time lapse with it? That would be sick. I also really want to see how you put your light behind that glass shield you're talking about...

Good luck with everything! I'm sure you don't need it though.

So to understand correctly, you used 1 gallon dispersed through out all your beautiful ladies the last two waterings. I believe that is what you are saying.
You think that you could explain the veg watering? I understand you water from the bottom to encourage the plant to find water; makes sense. Did you end up wasting a lot of water during veg using your style? I would think that you could just fill the container with water and stick the pots in there for a couple min allowing the water to wick up. Pick up the pot, let it drain into container, and place back in box (with place for extra dripping water to go of course), and then repeat with a different set of pots using same water in the container. However, I could see how that could be bad because you could contaminate a plant through the soil.

How long have you left your plants without watering? Have you ever used those aqua globes? I was thinking that if I started some seedlings now, they would have a chance to get a good root mass growing come time for me to go home for spring break. As long as they survive the break, flip them to flowering right when I get back. I'm hoping that I don't have to use the aqua globes though and that someone could water them once in the middle of the week for me. Because of my school schedule, 10 week quarters, it would be hard to get a full (decent sized) grow completed from seed, at least I think. Also, before I put those little buggers into flower, I could take clones from them so I can have some short mothers for my veg chamber. My eventual plan is to have a perpetual system worked out. Most likely with a separate clone box with bubble cloner. Veg chamber is tall and wide, but not too deep. I'm hoping for a small mother or two in there. I figure I only really need a couple clones every couple weeks or so to fill out my flowering space. Might have to do a scrog a couple times to build up my stock before I move to sog. A) so I get the hang of growing B) so I have some smoke :joint:

Regarding wiring of the Whisper...

I have read about how to wire the whisper from bulenath's posts. I don't have an extension cord lying around, but what I do have is a pc power cable. I cut it open and the three wire colors are black, white, and green. I'm assuming the only difference is that the white substitutes for the red in his post? I figure the pc power cable should be plenty strong to hold the power needed from the fan.

1 gallon for all ladies each time i water which is about 3-4 days. thus far anyway.

If you want to plant some seedlings and leave them for a week this is what I would do. Fill a container with perlite and start your seeds in rapid rooters/plugs of some sort. Seedlings send out a taproot straight down so the more vertical room underneath the plugs in the perlite the better. It's a risk.. maybe you should just save your seeds until you have everything ready.

I used a PC power supply cord as well. No issues.

Hey Cozy

The glass is like 2'' below the bulb and it runs from the bottom of the 120mm fan (fan moved all the way to the top now) over to the fan case. So the big opening is like 4 inch gap on the left hand side of the cab. I think this will also help the direction of my air flow. I don't want any mold.

Here are some results of the web cam thing.

the following day

I got it positioned on my bag seed plant of all ones because it is flowering the fastest. I'm going to have to buy a nicer camera because this is so cool.

Plants got watered tonight... each got ~18oz of the mix. All per gallon.. 1TB Big Bloom, 1tsp Tiger bloom, 1/4tsp Open Sesame.

My rubbermaid project has been a total failure so far. This paint just cracks right of the plastic (i think i was suppose to sand it.) The goop I put on stuck to the paint, but then the whole thing came off. I'm rigging up a frame with some wood. Huge PITA cutting with a hand saw. I want to have the tub and cloning dome dialed in before I take clones and I know I need to take them asap before the lower bud sights start to push out pistils!

Week 3!

If you see weird spots on the leaves it is because a pot tipped over in the cab and the fan spit dirt every where lol

The Bubble Gums first. All ladies!

The Northern Lights (what have i DONE!?) Two females, one unknown, and one slayed male.

The lone Bag seed who is flowering the fastest despite being about 10 days younger and much smaller.

I took 2 clones from NLs and one from the rest of them.

Before I took the cuttings it was 75F and 89% RH. My tub was a failure and I need to make another one. I'll be paying attention to temperature, but I'm not sure what I can do about it other than sit next to an electric heater. If the heat mat is on low and placed under it goes up to high 80s. I took some cuts pretty small like 2'' so I hope I can do DrBud proud :]

Cab shots

There you can see what I did with the glass.

Because they are flowering out of the top does that mean the stretch is over? I hope so!

yes your stretch is done, but your buds WILL hit that glass lol.
wait till they need watering (they can snap completely if you dont) and then you can tie them down more.

Cool job with the time lapse. Funny how you tried the rubbermaid mother box as well. Like you, I also had problems with paint chipping off. Along with the paint problems, I also needed to incorporate a carbon scrubber system as my girls are stinky even in veg.

I still would like to find a nice night stand to convert into a mom box, but until then the one I made out of cardboard works great...just as I designed :p

Those animated gifs are sweet! Anyway you can get one of a whole week or more?

The problem with the paint chipping off the rubbermaids can be easily corrected by first spraying with a special primer made for plastics.

Here are some pictures from last night.

They all got about 16oz of water each with the bag seed a little less. 1 TB BB and 1 tsp TB. I'm planning on bringing in some molasses and bloom booster. I've read good things about Beastie Blooms, but I think I'm going to skip out on the Cha Ching.

Bubble Gums

I'll tie them down a bit more next watering.

Some individual shots.. Some of the plants have some wilting because they are crammed in that space so they don't look the best, but I think they are still plenty healthy. The sativa pheno's top fan leafs ran into the fan yesterday for a little trim.

^The lone untrained BG

Canopy shot of BG ladies

The bag seed

Northern Lights - oh yeah! 3 ladies out of 4! So my total females was 10/13!

The whole family..

And the clones

My failed clone tub.. I plan on doing another one the right way this weekend. I'll try and find that primer so the paint won't chip off. I want to use an adjustable speed fan to help control temperatures. I took a round lid and put it on the other end of the 80mm fan. After that I put on a carbon sheet from a litter box contraption and duck taped it all together. The fan moves very little air.

Paint chips

Cab shots

That is all I got for today. They aren't too stinky yet.
