? regarding huminity dmg for cab in closet

Lets say hypothetically I am running a cab in my closet which is vented out into the closet. Lets say there are 20 plants and the air is filtered through a DIY carbon scrubber. Do you think the humidity from the air from inside the cab will dmg anything (ex. walls) after it is circulated out of the cab? Basically dont want the walls in my closet to get dmged.

Unless the fresh air intake for your cabinet is outside of the closet, all you're doing is recirculating the same air over and over. As a result, the humidity level will continue to rise as will the temps. Warmer air can hold more humidity than cooler air. Alternatively, you could just leave the closet door open and have a room fan pointed in the direction of the closet.

dry z air/damp rid type of wardrobe/rv dehumidifier will absorb rh exhaust. small+effective for that particular application. you will see the daily water accumulation in the bowl of the cheap dry z air instrument. empty water, place more pellets in top grill. that's it for a small/mid-sized garden. add more dry z air (or equivalent) as needed.

I solved my problem in a similar situation by installing a 120cfm bathroom fan on the ceiling joists above my closet. I pull through a vent in the closet's ceiling and exhaust into the attic space, pushing though a carbon filter at the end of the line. It's very discreet.

This lets me vent the cab itself without worrying about odor control - I have either interior volume, noise, or cooling issues if I try to do it directly in/on/from the cab. As the closet is now a negative pressure environment, though, any scent (and heat, and humidity) gets ventilated out the top rather than entering the rest of my home. :abduct:

I have a lot of heat-generating gear (small studio) in the room to which the closet is attached, so it's also been a great way to keep temps down for the humans when I have all that stuff powered on.

Something about two birds with one stone seems appropriate... and in this case that's not a pot joke. :joint:

Of course, that's all completely moot if you rent or live with parents.
