what type of yeild is it possible to pull off with a 400w lamp i know it depends on the conditions but just a rough idea. i was thinking 8 oz at the most 8 plants at 1 oz a plant or 4 plants at 2 oz a plant.thanks for any replys ferret.

I think a 400 will do 8 oz. easily.

of course there are other things to consider in your grow room...

have you considered using dual 250's?

don't limit your room to just one path...your plot should always be open to change and modification

people talk about a gram per watt average (gpw) the best ones I've seen are 1.5+ (so for 400watts = 600grams). my personal goal is 1.0 (400 grams)and I think most newbies like me can reasonably hope for 0.4 - 0.6..(around 200 grams)

at least thats what I gather... things like strain, veg time, number of plants etc are all determining factors.

I could be wrong, but someone with proper knowledge of this will no doubt be along soon to respond :smile:

you can get 8 pretty easy but I get about 10 ounces per cycle with my 400 watt hps and like everyone has said many factors to look at but I will say 8-10 are obtainable...very strain dependent...

I can put 16 clones under a 400 and get about 240 grams with no veg If I put 16 under the 400 with a week veg I get about 325 grams of dried dank.Now when I ran ww I got 9 ounces off 2 plants with a month veg time so it varies, now I have to say that all nugs don't have the same solidness because I'm stretching the light to the max but only about 50 grams came out airy...

cool, I'd wondered about this. I was trying to decide how long a veg my clones needed - thats a great improvement for just a week eh? (I decided on a two week veg... and BOY am I glad I Did after reading that

when i last grew with a 400 watt in an area 4x2.5 with 2 plants in 5 gallon pots with a indica dominant strain,veged for 5 weeks from seed and topped once I pulled 11 ounces at 7 weeks flowering.they were big girls.

my 400 watters HPS/MH gave me a lb. at first it was the MH for veg, then the HPS for flower. someone advised i should burn them both in the end and i did. it worked out but im gonna go for 800MH the first half of the flowering cycle and then finish them off with 800HPS. a whole friggin lb baby

after my last grow im definitely getting my lighting down pact. i that by alternating the light between the MH and HPS every week, would make a difference. i think that the consistency of light is more beneficial. kinda give s the plant time to respond and process what it needs to process in order to complete potency.

im high, but damnit i know what im sayin'!!

I use 400w CMH and mixed cfl's and of course yield depends on a lot of things like the strain.

I use 3 gal grow bags so I can cram 3 of them in a normal greenhouse tray, then I try to keep at least 3 trays under the flower lamp making 9 plants, but I have had as many as 14 in various stages of flower.

But I am just growing for myself and I really don't care much about yield. I am much more concerned about quality than quantity, but yes over 1 ounce per plant is not too hard to do with the right strains... indicas.

Running these right now had to go back to soil had a bad bout with my bubbler's everything would look lovely and just die so I had to play in the sandbox again for a while

Like some one else said you should be able to pull 8 oz off 8 plants with out much problem. Hell should be able to do that with almost no veg time, I'd say veg em for maybe 2 weeks 3 if you got alot of room and you will easily crush 8 oz should hit 10 maybe 12 fairly easy course I guess a 400 can only do so much I use 600 so maybe I'm being a lil too ambitious for a 400 but 8 easy buddy
