Keep breeding to different strains

Ok I am trying to get everything down as far as breeding goes. I am still a pollen chucker by all means and fine with that name because I don't know everything BUT want to learn.

I was sitting here tokin some romulan in a dream I had and wanted to know what would you end up passing on if you always bred into something different. Would you end up with seeds with a vast amount of possibilities OR would only so many from each cross show up.

Example

Ak-47 female X Sensi Star
seed from the above bred to a Romulan
seed from the above bred to a super silver haze
seed from above bred to a afghani
seed from above bred to a purple kush

what would you end up with down here?
:yeahthats
I need to stop dreaming about toking while I think of breeding possibilities but if anyone can help me with the above thoughts it would be greatly appreciated.

the only issue with breeding using that plan is there will be no consistency. Every seed you plant will yield something different. Genetics don't merge... you will get a lil of this, one of that, some of this...

yeah bro, would be a mish mash, but ya never know what ya might come across as well.

most lines that your thinkin of usin are already hybrids, so you would see a bunch of variety everytime out i would think.

just startin out makin seed, would be a good learnin experience for ya, and what better way then hands on.

a better approach, would be to take a few males ya like outta the AK, then hit the best females from each of the other seedlines, grow those batches, and observe how your males do, which males works the best outta the ones ya picked. at least you would be doin somethin productive, testin males to find your parent stock.

just do it:D

I just wondered what would come of it, but yes I do agree a mixed bag of everything might be in there, some good some bad and maybe some great.

I am not going to breed like this but rather wondered what would come of it.

My breeding efforts currently have only been making f2's of strains and my current cross which is only on the f1's being grown out. I will be taking the f1's and breeding them to each other to see what this line will have in the f2's and locate my keepers from there.

I just wondered what would end up getting giving pheno wise from one cross to the next if they were all pretty different.

Bringing up that they are hybrids also brings up some thoughts because that whole hybrid vigor will show itself in these crosses as well as since many of these commercial strains are just different reconfigurations of each other they might have more in common than I think.

I think my genes are pretty different from each other in this cross to come out with something i'm sure (claymore ducksfoot x nirvana white rhino) x federation romulan and hoping that the f2's show me some amazing keeper males and females.

I might have been wondering about this random breeding idea because I can see many closet breeders just crossing whatever they have with whatever else they have just due to needing more seeds and or lack of room or money and wonder what some of these random combos might bring out and in what line would it happen like the f2's through f5's and so on. Maybe the largest selection of phenos possible which could be great for someone needing one seed stash with a million phenotypes, not sure why anyone would need that though.

Maybe stabilize them for their traits at each juncture by backcrossing each generation back into the original P1 and P2. But adding another polyhybrid again and again will strew the mix per say.

Stick with simple hybrids and work those until your happy with the results.Sensi star is a good variety to use for breeding,it lacks vigor but makes up for it in taste, aroma and potency.

I know there are more productive breeding questions, but I am more of a "what if" sort of person and would rather know the why versus the why not.

I just picture a strain that you took through 10 mostly different crosses and the possible gene pool selection at the end of say the 5th to 6th random breeding. Just wondering if you can end up with a huge assortment of various phenos from all of the many crosses in the f5's and further, not sure if they would be considered f-anything since they never really would be bred to each other, crossed, back crossed or anything but rather crossed with new lines over and over again. I would assume that each new cross would start their own f1 line and none of them would get to an f2 and beyond.

I am not planning on breeding like this ever BUT wanted to know from those IN the know what could, would and should happen if something like this did happen.

Keep that learnin hat on, I always do.
:woohoo:
