Just put both DJ cuts into bloom tonight. I hope to see some reasonably nice smoke from them. I also put the PK in there and a few others. Got a few questions.
So, the BB cut doesnt smell like blueberries, but is nice smoke anyway?? Yield??
And the Flo... Yield??
And lastly, how did the PK stretch and did the leaves look this way....

Yeah, the BB is good smoke for sure. I'ts resin type is unique and the high is strong. The resin is thick, not greasy like some plants. No blueberry smell at all, just a blue hue in flower. The Flo gets more blue than the blueberry. The yield on the BB is respectable.
The yield on the Flo is less than the bb in my experience.
The PK stretched about like a Bubba, not much. The leaves were fat like Bubba, but not quite as fat as Bubba. Funny to be typing about the PK, a friend just lit a joint of it and I can smell it as I'm writing this.
Very much like Bubba, even the smoke smells like it.
The yield on the Flo is less than the bb in my experience.

theres been OG kush S1's around for quite awhile (5yrs or better)and i've never once heard of a chemdog pheno showing itself
i can see similarities ,with the fuel-ish tastes but OG kush just dosent have that wicked rude ass chemdog smell/taste....it's got its own smell/taste which is distinctly different

I know what you're saying about the relations seeming a bit of a stretch, Frank. It's damn near impossible to know for sure, so I'll just say it's all really great pot, related or not.
For an example of how hard it is to tell what's related to what sometimes... The Chemdawg #4 and the Chemdawg D are sisters... but the #4 and the D smell almost entirely unrelated. They look similar, but the smell and taste is different enough to call them unrelated in blind taste tests. You nevah, evah know.

i haven't seen any pheno's of chemdawg in ogkushs1's or crosses. but i also just figured that ogkush was an s1 of a cross of chemdawg.
i haven't tried the PK but i do have a kush cut that looks like the one el gato posted. except it smells/tastes more like perfume/flowery than candy/fruit.

no blueberry smell from the bb cut??? weird cause i have the bb cut in flower right now and it has a hella sweet strong blueberry candy smell, u got pics? cause it just sounds kinda strange. i have not smoked it yet( 7 weeks into bud) but in flower smells soo much like blueberry candy, or a grape taffy or something - did it smell like that in flower then once dried didnt carry it anymore?? what smells are u gettin off her??
mxpx, yeah, there's a sweet smell in there, but nothing like what I'd call blueberry. I've grown BB crosses, the Blueberry from seed, Blueberry F2's, F3's, F4's, True Blueberry, etc... and they are all very similar to this clone. None of them are very blueberry smelling IMO. Keep in mind that every grower does things differently, so mine might come out differently form the next guy's. Mine have always smelled the same way, though, for many years.

in my experience the berry taste is best if grown outdoors/greenhouse
probably it's also the light. remember Dj stated that the distance from the light plays a role as well. the finer blueberry flavors manifest much better if the light is strong but more far away (sun is best in this case And the high-temps are an other important factor ..they don't change much the citrus-spectrum... but are not good for the forest-fruits aromas (can actually destroy them)

ive been using pure blend pro in an aeroponic system, and my temps are always between 68 and 73 degrees - but i give my plants a good 2 - 2 1/2 week flush of straight r/o water, like 50ppms... its looks like CC didnt flush his plants that good by the look of that pure kush cut.. the pure kush leaves turn a burgandy purple after a good flush, dont really see any of that on his, just all green... i have my BB about 18 inches from light to the main cola... very berry goodness!!
ps - not trying to be a hater CC just really trying to figure out why u never smell blueberries

so because crazy composer didnt flush (im sure he did...come on now, the guys not an idiot) that dictates the way his plants smell during flowering? if thats the case, im going to tell all my plants at the start of flowering that im going to flush them good, you know, so they start producing that berry aroma.

dude im talkin taste, and yea i would think if towards the end of flower the plants would smell diff if not a "PROPER" flush(bitter and chemmy) - just saying im 4 days into flush with my pk and its leaves are already turning that burgandy purple color

umm no, calm down fella - some people that read this thread are starting to believe that dj's bb does not smell or taste like blueberry or none of his stuff does because CC said them things. well my experience is totally diff..i dont want the people that have not grown bb to think that dj's gear does not smell or taste like blueberries.. i dont think the million people that have grown bb just say it smells like blueberries just to say it, i know i smell the blueberry in dj's gear

I won't touch the blueberry smell/taste debacle, very subjective area........... but on a side note, if memory serves me, I think CC uses PBP also....... could be wrong though, swore I read it at another site.
For sure different light schedule, temps, humidity, etc can mean the difference in final product. CC says the BB is really nice smoke, maybe his pallette is different. Hell, maybe BBs smell different in his town. Never know. But one thing is proven, DJs gear is the bomb shit.
