Well seems you've already experienced it SD... so that answers that...
As for the cause, I've heard many different hypothesis... from humidity and temp to light levels... not sure exactly, but I believe it's usually an over fert issue.. at least that's all I could pin it on when I've encountered'em... particularly N. But to say for certain, I cannot.
Me too.. I found it was too much N as well, but it can also be strain dependent as some strains can not take the nutes/amendments that other can. Therefore, other nutes get locked out and your leaves go crazy. My WR was like this, but the other strains in the room were just fine.
I noticed the Genius would have em when I topped her, then it corrected its self. Just wondering cuz I had never seen the term or effect before and I saw them at the same time. Like it was just invented or something. LOL!
i grow a plant that does it , had it years and never can do a run without getting the "horns"
at some stage , ive noticed the more sativa plants are more prone to it than indicas
Right now I have 5 plants going in a 3x3x6 cab. Half of the height in the cab is taken up my the stand for an f&d table. The plants ended up growing above the light-line for the 430w CMH bulb in a cooltube with a built-in reflector. The part of the plant that's above the light-line (and is therefore in shadow) has the ram's horns leaves. There is a drastic visual difference in leaves on the same stalk when it's in and out of the light. So at least some of it is light-dependent.
learns something new i thought it was a term given to bud or cola shape my w rhino strain creats bent colas at peak giving mini rhino horn looking buds.
Bush male crossed white rhino kept the solid horns.
I've grown a Kush plant that has Ram's Horns at the top. I initially tried to change conditions to correct the "problem" but she grows fine. For this plant, I think this is a normal trait.
