I'm not sure how you can allow plants leaves to yellow, its a natural flowering process.During the first 2-3 weeks of 12/12 I use a lot of nitrogen because the plant is stretching and still vegging, this usually helps with unnatural premature yellowing of the fans during 12/12.Different strains and phenos are going to yellow at different times and to different degrees also.

I think what question you are really trying to figure out is, "When do I stop feeding my plants?" I am assuming you want to flush your plants as well to prevent a nutrient taste in them...I would say a minimum of 10 days. So if you are flowering for 56 days (8w) then I would suggest you stop feeding on day 42 and begin flushing on day 46. But as has been stated, this is really strain dependent...I know some plants do put on all the weight in the last 2 weeks of flower, so they will need the nutrients still to give a proper yield...at any rate, I believe the typical response for a generic situation is 10-14 days of flushing at the end of a flowering cycle to get the best / most natural taste from your product.

-this is just my understanding, someone else may come and say something entirely different...please correct me if I am giving incorrect advice-

Just do the best you can. Follow the direction on the bottle of what ever nutrients you are giving and your plants should do fine.

Its not good if all the leaves yellow so early in there life cycle.
The odd yellow leaf here and there is ok, nore then that and you have a problem.

Its when the plant is fully matured, or getting near to maturity.
Budds/thc is turning cloudy.
Usually starting from the 8th week. around 60 days flowering

Your telling me you make it 8 weeks from start of flower before plant yellows? I veg for 45 days and im counting days from time you switch to flower. I feel it would be next to impossible to get 8 weeks of flower with no yellowing others please comment

This plant was yellowing at just past 4 weeks, I would not worry too much about it, My plants dont see to much nitrogen during veg, I never feed to full strength during veg.

Normally my plants will be yellowing(fans) at about week 6. The only time a yellow plant would really concern me is during veg and the 1st 3 weeks of flower. After the third week you really have to fuck it up to ruin your harvest.

Just keep doin what you are doin, the buds will come.

Dog thanks you know I never paid attention assuming plant was producing fat nugs and i saw no ph or other problems i didnt worry but now that i have a good selection of nutes again and will be doing good counts i want to dial it in so un thinking if i make it 3 weeks before they start to yellow im good

I flush always, what I meant by feeding was should I give it a day of no water before flushing?

Well, you still have to water your plant, it is just that there is nutrient built up in the soil, so it isn't like the plant is going to starve...I usually just cut back ppm or go to straight water, but not to the point of runoff as in flushing, just enough RO water to keep them from drying out. At the same time, they start pulling the remaining nutrients in the soil, rather than just flushing it all out.

It is really all about knowing/being familiar with the plant(s) you are growing. "Dialed in"...this is what it is all about. Knowing how much, when to do it, when no to do it...you learn these kinds of things by running the same plant over and over again, ideally, you improve each time, until you get it where you want it.

Thus the idea of an environmental pheno type...

There will be the odd leaf here and there that will yellow. especially the lower leaves.
I think that 45 days veg is too much. How big do you want your plants and what size containers do you use. Usually 3 to 3.5 weeks veg is enough.

As stated earlier I am well aware of flushing and do flush. Thanks for comments but as far a normal regiment while im feeding i was thinking 4 weeks after start of flower or ten and half weeks total with no yellowing would be about right????? of course that why i opened the thread to see what everyone else thought.

Thanks guys

final 2 weeks of an 8week strain flush em.thats when they turn for me.sometimes a week sooner.

So none of your leaves yellow prior to last 2 weeks? I just dont see how thats possible. I must be doing something wrong
