curing issues

Hi

I have been having problems with curing for some years now.

So i let my weed hang a month or 2 , the i let my weed dry an extra night with buds removed from branches.

Then i jar them and burp the jars10-15 minutes first day and reposition the buds.

The first week or so taste and smell + effect improves.

And then all of a sudden , my weed start becoming less dry and the taste and smell becomes grassy and the potenct + smokeablilty drop drastically.

Anyone get any idea why?

I always have this when it stops freezing outside and it start to rain. Humidity rises from0-5% to 20-30% , which is not too much , but still apprantly enough to make my buds moister instead of drier when burping the jars.

It is pretty frustrating to have 3 jars of weed that the day before tasted and smelled excellent and the next day , having some B/C class weed :( :( :(

I took the buds out of the jar yasterday and let them dry a few hours to make them crispy and now they are in the jar again hoping that it will become tasty again.

shouldnt' you been hang drying them for like a week or so and then jarring for like a month or two? instead of hang drying for a whole month. i'd imagine that that would dry out the buds a lot

No it is humid here SO in the attick they are all moist even after a month , i mean the stem snaps barely , but the meat and buds are spongy not crumbly or dry

I live in a humid place, try turning on the A/c it will lower the humidity in your home. Your buds will go through a phase of smelling like grass, just keep burping. Curing is a skill that will improve with experience.

You could always run a dehumdifier in your attic. For burping you could set the open jars by the dehumidifier exhaust fan on low to ensure the air exchanged is less humid than the ambient air which added moisture.

LOL i jhave an air dehumidifier in my attick :D 2 months already ,

What u say about puttin g them in the exhaust of my dehumidifier is a VERY good idea.

But i will have to take down the dehumidifier then cuz in the attick it is too humid.

But this will mean that while i cure one or two strains , all tjhe other strains will become MUCh wetter/moister cuz the dehumidifier will be downstairs for curing , i hope an oscillating fan will prevent mold with the remainder of my harvest.

A big harvest is fun but when i have so many different strains in such quantities(10 greenhouse strains and outdoor plants) , curing can become chaotic and you can forget about daily testsmoking cuz i just can't test all my weeds every day:D(whine whine whine :D)

But the point is , before i freeze my stash i wanna cure it this year. Last year i just dried the buds untill bone dry and then i froze them.

Taste and smell became a lot better in the freezer. But nothing beats cured weed.

So this year i wanna give it another go. If i keep having troubles i will just dry and freeze my stash. I mean i want harvest 2008 to be over and stashed away for the coming years.

Maybe it's better if i cure if i have small quantities , like from one indoor 600WATT setup.
