250w HPS Stealth Dresser

Hey guys ive finaly come to make a decision on making a 250w stealth dresser. I have a perfect dresser that will fit in my cuboard. The measurements are 13" deep x 33" wide x 41" high. It will be purely used for flowering only in a 3 plant scrog or a 8 plant sog perpetual system.

I plan on using a 250w HPS Cooltube and a carbon filter. I am keeping it simple with using just soil as the medium for now. Do you guys think it will work?

I'm in the middle of a 250W stealth cabinet design right now, check out my planning thread for some ideas, there are a lot of common concerns.

It can definitely work, I think your primary concern should be to ventilate properly with a decent fan. My setup is going to have a bit more area and less height, but the idea is similar. I am inexperienced, and the idea of a cooltube makes me feel far more secure that heat can be handled. I'm going to go with one of those bake-a-rounds, at least to start, as they are tested and solid for cheaper than a commercial rig. The height of your space should allow you to ventilate well if you find a good fan.

One thing to think about is a way of maintaining a constant supply of plants; if you're going for something perpetual, you might want to think about mothers rather than constantly acquiring seeds/clones.

Hey, I'm building a dresser with almost the same dimensions. It's totally possible. I plan on doing a 40 plant perpetual SOG in a 24" flower chamber under 250w HPS and have cloning / moms in an 8" side chamber under CFLs. It's totally possible from everything I've seen.

Good luck! Start forming a plan and save yourself some trouble! (At least that is what I am doing.)

Working on building the door and thinking of methods to keep the door shut.

Also cutting the exhaust and intake holes in the next few days.

Also working on finding a smaller cabnet or simular to put on top for the utilitys room.

simple gate latches work great for my cabinet door. four latches = door on hinges AND/OR completely removable door

I say for that space you should go with CFLs all around that cab and mix in some Full Spectrum one's and you'll get better quality bud IMO... Check out the new thread I just made about CFL's being better than HPS for micro growing... Good luck and Happy Growing!!!

Hey Thundurkel,

Been there done that with the CFLs. Had a 228w mixed setup before and it got as hot or hotter then my 250w hps cool tube.

I dont think any light is better then others. It depends on grow requirments and abit of personal prefurence.

Been waiting to see photos for a while now, lol, I guess I'm ADD or something. You're cab is slightly smaller than mine, I think a 250w cooltube would be perfect too. BTW, is it going to be the cylinder scrog in your sig?

Though, considering my (and essentially your) space limitations, I may still drop the light / fan lower to accommodate the filter which is supposed to attach at the other end of the light. Unfortunately that requires me bulldozing part of the shelving I made....

Ok well since we are pretty much same watts as I run 252w of CFL I say we have a grow off once we are both dialed in how we want. Cuz I think I have more useuable light than you IMO and I'd also like to see the difference in size of buds between us. No hatred just friendly growing

SmokeToLive - Hey mate nice setup. Though yours looks abit more crouded then mine. That would be a bummer about the shelf. Glad to have u following along.

Thundurkel - Once i run it and test it and its all good to go sure ill have a grow off. I must admit though i have only grown mainly outdoor with only one half assed fluro grow so bare with me. The bud size may varey though because of our strain selection.

I think "friendly grow offs" are a fantastic idea myself. One day I'd like to split some seeds with a few others to all grow at the same time in different environments..
