How much different life would be if weed was legal

A typical day for me (currently unemployed)

wake up
smoke , eat breakfast
shit, get dressed
get on ic, check email
surf youtube, play gta4
smoke some more,
eat again, back on ic

...at this point its around 1 oclock i am bored by now i might call a few people see whats going on but I can't go anywhere being broke, I can't constantly maintain 10 plants so after the watering every 3rd day and spraying for mites i have nothing to do

if weed was legal i would go back east and go back to my granpas farm with 170 acres and grow huge crops so i would always be busy waking up early right as the sun came up to start watering, training, digging holes, planting clones, putting up fencing to keep out deer etc. i know personally a lot of people who would come help me if it was legal and i would definatly stay busy and have a lot to do... granpa also has a big barn about 200 x 100 feet i would rig into a big grow room with tons of 1k's (power is cheap there)

it would really be a fun thing to do i sometimes wonder why pot is illegal it would make my life so much different and way more fun, i have always wanted to buy and island and turn it into a pot paradise similar to the movie "the beach" or kinda like jack black's spot in the woods like in"bongwater"

i would also meet a lot of people i see here on icmag

if it were legal, perhaps the prices will not go down that much if you count that many crops such as coffee although legal, still mantain high profitability for some countries more than others because of things like special climates to grow the best herb in etc...
maybe quality would increase a lot, because it would be easier to breed and to preserve landraces and selecting out undesireable traits each generations with lots of populations etc...

The price would drop, but there would always be a high end market. Look at green tea, you can buy the Liptons brand for around $2.00, or super fine tippy golden flowery orange Pekoe grade which retails for about $600.00 per kilo.

we already have that problem, my neighbor said last year someone had a male growing and pollenated a lot of plants....

I think those are fair prices to compensate for taxes, grower re imbursement, and store profit- yet still be affordable for anyone (if ur broke smoke mexi, the dank cost a lot to grow, but is still cheaper than it is right now anyway)

It really depends on what regulations and restrictions are placed on the production if it were legalized.

They could go tobacco route and say you can't grow your own.

They could be lenient and say personal plants are okay, but not commercial.

But they sure as shitzel aren't going to let everyone grow acres of it and sell it off the radar. Like someone said above, it would be turned into an industry. Radioactive fertilizers (like used on tobacco), low quality (through drying and curing), junk. Imagine buying a 20 pack of mexi-brick quality joints. What a miserable idea that is. Not to mention with the commercial, radioactive fertilizers being used (if they're similar to those on tobacco), we would probably have our first case of cannabis caused cancer.

Legalization would be really, really complex. And imagine what would happen if we let politicians and legislators decide what the rules are for cannabis I've got mixed feelings about legalization I suppose...

and I when i say legalization I don't mean partial legalization with a limit on plant #'s i mean legal, where u can walk down the road greet the traffic cop offer him a puff of your joint and move along, or having places like sams club or costco selling 100# bulk packs of weed for people who still want to sell.... people are always going to sell weed to eachother anyway... might as well take the criminal aspect out of it.

I would like to be able to smoke a big blunt on the way to a movie or maybe outside of the theatre...

i know some people can't smoke and drive (i can, my ex gf couldn't for shit) so i guess that would have to be like alcohol not being intoxicated and driving...

I could smoke 2 blunts with 1g in each and still drive but if my mom (Who dosn't smoke) hit a joint or bowl once she would be finished so i don't know how that would work...

I could tell people what I do with my free time.. instead of having to make up some bullshit that they (the sheep) can relate to.

I would be able to afford to take better care of my health.

I would be able to afford sharing more things with people.

I would be able to partake in social situations AND enjoy them to the extent of a normal person.

Damn man, my bad. I must have had bad information because I was under the impression tobacco was illegal to grow without proper licenses and what not, but after reviewing laws it looks like it's okay.

I understand your point that, but something to consider is that tobacco wouldn't be half, or even a quarter as bad for you if grown with love and care like us cannabis lovers. The radioactive chemicals they use as ferts and other additives is what really screws you over. I don't even use tobacco, I was just using it as a comparison (but even now I see my comparison is wrong so forget I even said it haha)

I agree that it affects people differently. I had a job in a city an hour away where I simply could not make that drive every morning if I didn't get my tokes in But my brother can't drive while high to save his life, go figure.

I am all with you on the completely legalized. But you have to see that perfection is impossible, and there will be dirty politicians and big business lobbyists making sure they get the good end of the stick. It wouldn't be a free for all. There is no way businesses will sell cannabis and then allow home growers to sweep in on their market.

But all this is just speculative bs... it all depends how they made the rules and regulations...

But if it were a free for all, cannabis for the world... I would be in heaven! Life would be a lot less stressful not worrying about cops busting down your door, going to jail for non sense, all the hassle that comes with loving cannabis in today's society. I'd have to keep the job though, but breaks would be more fun and so would going out.

Not to get off the main subject or anything, but I'm considering growing a few tobacco plants for personal use. Actually I don't smoke cigarettes, but the occasional cigar, and pipe tobacco is nice once in a while. Just wanted to try making my own 'blends'.

Yeah, dude you get the idea.

Also, I think in a world of legal weed the best of the best would get MUCH more expensive. think of some of the well-known growers and breeders here running small "gourmet" cannabis farms, cultivating "special editions" in limited supply. It would get as crazy as wine vinyards/tastings--how 'bout high end cannabis ranch tours in mendocino County or the Dutch countryside.

Owning certain brands of pot could become a high-profile status symbol.

The big name corps with mega $$$$ would trademark all the available dank strains and therefore the little guy could not grow and sell something like Sour Diesel because Corp XYZ said they 'own' the rights to it and will threaten you with law suits. Get ready, cuz that's comin', folks. Legalize it like apples and bannanas .. if you want to grow for personal consumption, have a few plants in your backyard.

If you want to grow acres of crops and take it to market, thats your choosing as well.
