don't you hate when you get extremely nice looking stanky buds that just arn't potent? i should be able to get high off a small bowl of headies (.2-.3) but with this shit, i need to smoke .5+ to be satistfied.... and its a short-lived 30-45 minute high. my tolerance isn't too high either which is pretty shitty.

Maybe a more knowledgeable member can post about how and why less potent but dank looking weed is produced? Either really well produced bag seed or weak strains, or good stuff that is harvested earlier and not cured properly/long enough ?

I had one of my bagseed plants turn out like that. Looks great, sparkly, sticky, stanky, but absolutely no punch. Seems to do alright if you mix it with mids (kicks it up half notch or so) but thats it.

i mean its understandable, bag appeal is a huge selling point.

Trichs dont mean shit. i've seen some real frosty shit that gets ya a buzz but nothing spectacular.. theres plently of frosty strains that the only reason they appear so - is all the cystolith glands (which contain verry little THC if any at all).

on that note ive smoked some nugs that put me out like a light and had few crystals at all.

Yup this happens all the time.. My tolerance is extremly high but still.. My last grow I gew out some of Nirvanas PPP and while it looks fuckin awesome, tastes awesome, smokes awesome, its low potency. Gets me high dont get me wrong, but it just aint that headbanger like the shit I get from my friends in Philly. Ps, my PPP is on month 4 of the cure too. Sorry bout your luck pack a bowl.

no i didn't grow it... my guess is that it was just harvested early... it smokes pretty bad until you leave it out for a night and even then it didn't smoke perfect since it was obv. rushed / not cured...

i wouldn't call these "kind buds". people that call weed around here kind buds are usually referring to beasters, and these are not beasters.. they almost look like AAA beast at first glance, but they arn't. just disappointing.

i don't judge only from look. i judge from look, smell, feel and some other characteristics... but you can only look at a nug and tell how decent it is to a certain extent.

i've never heard of crystolith glands, but the main tricker that tricks people into thinking their weed is really frosty are usually hairs that are as big as trichomes (ya know the ones)

Yeah, crystolith (sp?) hairs are the waxy, waterproof hairs that look like trichs that are covering the plant (you'll see lots on the stems).

Edit: I just dont get the whole purple thing. I guess if we had some solid red weed, and all the "rappers" put it into their "rhymes" it would be popular and considered better. Ignorance is a lucrative market for sure.
