Generally the more acidic the mix,the more dolomite you want to add.You would add less dolomite to ocean forest than you would for promix

I use 1/2 Happy Frog , 1/2 Pro Mix and add some pearlite . I add 1 tblsp. of hydrated lime per 1 gal. of soil mix .

I wouldn't use hydrated lime bro its much stronger and faster acting.I've never used it myself although but if dolomite is available I'd stick with what works for sure

You know i never thought about it didn't know there's a difference. I just looked at my bag and it hydrated. Like I said i use 2 cup per cf and cf typically fills 6-7 3g off of memory, im always dipping to fill my 4" and one gallon. I definitely know my mix is one 1 cf though

good luck all

Dolomite is meant to be mixed with soil whereas hydrated "hydra"is supposed to be mixed with water I believe.I dont like to give advice when I havent used a product but have heard enough on the subject to make me think its undesirable.

lol disco i think thats the stuff u use if your burying a body and u wanna kill the smell. lol but i dunno.
i use the agriculture limestone in all my mixes though. slowacting, keeps ph in check

Been using it for 22 yrs . w/o probs.
All the dolomite I've ever seen was pelletised / time release , I havent got 6 mos. to wait for it to break down and do it's job , and neither do the girls .
To ea. their own.

So you can add dolomite lime to your water to fix some nute problems and pH problems. I was wondering how often you can do this, can you add it to every water if you want without a problem?
