IGT's 2000w+ Perpetual Hydro Garden

IGT, i sometimes used to get the rot stem as well. this is my take that may lead to stem rot, high temps, dirty water. Or , the area where the stem wekens and mushes to me seems like it is from disease. with my diy aerocloner, if i have ANY cut sites above the water line i get rot. I try not to have any cut nodes above the neoprem puck holder, or any cuts inside the puck. i found that because of the open wound the plant can get rot.

Sometimes if the wound was just above the puck it gets high humidity and molds. In the chamber the highly oxygenated water actually sterilizes the stem.

If i know the wound would be just above the puck, i trim the node but leave an inch or so of stem. its will heal, or mush and fall off. this way the wound is not anywhere close to the stalk.

since any node that was trimmed is under the puck now, i get very little rot. i loose one here and there out a 60site cloner

man there is a thread on here somewhere with a guy that just clones in glases of water and 100% succes just takes a little longer and he could do cuttings up to 12" or so. i havnt tried it yet but it was real easy just a bit longer though.

also i love your grow been watching for awhile kinda trying to do a small perpitual myself. looking forward to watching more!

Hi guys. It's time for an update on day 58. As expected, the girls have fattened up nicely and continue to pop new calyxes daily. I plan to let the entire crop go till 66-70. I think I mentioned before that this crop was a bit small, only 18 plants compared to my usual 28 so I dont have any yield estimates. But looking at how well the trellis has worked, I can't imagine yield being a whole lot lower. Im really looking forward to next run!

With these: :jump: Some real nice looking clones sitting in my bubble cloner.

Different angle. Obviously some HPS coloring but I started the flush a week ago so they are yellowing up.

Here's the same plant from an earlier pic that I commented will yield well. I was right. :joint:

So yeah, my seedlings were all males. I hate seeds. Ive decided to just stick with this strain until I can get some Critical Mass seeds. That's what I really want to switch to, so if anybody sees CM seeds for sale PLEASE let me know!!!! Stay safe.

Hi George, thanks for the heads-up. I got ahold of some Critical Haze feminized that Im popping for mothers right now. It's Critical Mass x Amnesia Haze so Im excited about the potential!

Hi John, glad you enjoyed my thread. It's a Nirvana NLxBigBud pheno. Nearly a perfect commercial strain since its heavy like the BB but has the potency of a solid NL. Im still working with it while playing around with some new genetics like the Critical Haze. My garden has struggled lately but Im finally getting things back on track so expect some updates in a few weeks. Bigger room, more plants, another light, a little variety, etc. Ive thought about a recirc DWC system and I agree it would kick ass but I always balk at having to completely start over and relearn a whole new method. Nice looking CM you have. Im hoping for some powerful donkey dicks in the future.

Dont ever lose that pheno bro lol....i hear ya im always changing system probably every other grow hehe im a sucker for it ..it aint the weed thats addictive its the growing for me bra! loads of new crit hacks im sure u will get a cracker...cant wait to see the new room..only wish i had a space like that ...sorry u didnt mention how u cool ya res, if u do? whats the closest u have ya aircooled reflectors ?

cya around bro..

Its a basement room so it doesnt get too hot during the summer with a small AC (max 85ish) but my res cooling/root rot fighting regimen is simple. Swapping frozen 2liters a couple times a day for temps and the combo of Hydroguard and Hygrozyme to keep the roots healthy and rot away. But Ill have to start looking for a Hydroguard replacement since Botanicare stopped making it and my bottle is almost empty. 12 inches is closest in full bloom but I get a little bleaching. 18" seems optimal.

thanks for the details IGT ..i only use liquid oxy ..always fancied using that hygrozyme..heard good reports on it

thanks again :)

NB jammy with the basement :) ..i think its every hydro boys dream

No, but I havent really started looking yet. Worrying about getting my garden back on track first since I still have some Hydroguard left. Switching to Rapid Rooters for cloning kinda fucked up my grow schedule. I ended up flowering way too early with too little root growth so the plants were stunted. Ive put them back on veg 16/8 light and letting them get some roots going before flipping back to 12/12. I guess Ill have to adjust my grow schedule to accomodate the Rapid Rooters in the future. The plants do not take off as quickly with them as they did without them. Ill post when Ive found a substitute.

i just started using jiffy pellots from wal mart and so far so good. their cheap 2!!

this guy just uses water with 100% success just takes a little longer
http://icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=10827

Im sure plain water works but its not really feasible for the 40+ strong clones I need each crop. Ive seen the peat pellets but never tried them. I imagine they're about the same as the Rooters.

Fortunately, my reveg plan is working. 3 prong leaves are growing and the pistils have stopped showing up. Root growth is improving too. Ill probably go back to 12/12 in a week or so. It'll suck going from the usual one week of veg to 2-3 weeks but I gotta do what I gotta do. Change one small thing and you have to relearn the whole gig.

Well I guess it's time for a new update on the garden. It's 2400w in there with 39 plant sites now. Things got pretty ugly for a while and it took a lot of time to get things straightened out. Inexplicable cloning failures led me to use Rapid Rooters for cloning, which worked great for rooting, but ended up requiring me to change my grow schedule as well as changing other parts like my water pump timing. I ended up flowering clones way too early so they stunted. I had to reveg, wait for roots, then go back to 12/12. At least a month of wasted time just on that. But it won't happen again. I got this!

Damn, some changes to the picture stuff on IC. Hope I get this right.

Today is start of week 2 of flower. Plant numbers are down but it's a whole new setup that needs dialing. Next run will be full up.
plants13-5.jpg

Here's what plants that had to be revegged look like. They will be fine in the long run, just odd looking for a bit.
plants23-5.jpg

There's 7 of these also mixed in. Big Bang Fem seedlings. Very uniform growth so Ill get some variety and a little extra yield. There was just way too many empty spots so I had to put *something* in them.
bbfem3-5.jpg

Here's a Critical Haze Fem coming up. I was hoping for a decent mother out of her for some variety from the NLxBB. It's very indica so far so hopefully it's got more Critical Mass heavy genes. We'll see what she does...
chfemmom3-5.jpg

A couple NLxBB moms. They will be ready for cloning once this run is done. If the Haze turns out to be a loser Ill still have enough NLxBB clones to fill the room. Im still dying to see my room actually full! Luck hasn't been my friend lately. But that's the life of a grower....
nlmoms3-5.jpg

Ill update in a few more weeks once they start budding up. Ill have my hands full in the meantime trimming them. Revegged clones turn into big ass bushes with a lot of crap to cut. Should be fun. Be safe all.

Been a long time since Ive updated this diary. Guess it's time for another update. Im coming pretty close to maxing my room out in space (8x8) and wattage (2400w). This isnt a full crop but its 25 plants. It's mostly Big Bang fem seeds but there's 5 of my usual NLxBB clones in there. I wanted to see if I get better yields from growing larger NLxBB plants instead of more smaller ones. Im still debating whether to switch to a bucket system and grow less, but bigger, plants. Ive got this fence post top feed/NFT figured out and working perfectly so part of me doesnt want to go starting from scratch again. Anyway heres things at day 27 of flower.

Most of the room.
room6-2809.jpg

The biggest NLxBB. My main "test" plant for growing bigger plants.
nl6-2809.jpg

15 Big Bang fems from seed. Ive grown out some before...they get HEAVY. End product isnt as good as the NLxBB but they do get very heavy.
bb6-2809.jpg

Some stem action.
jungle6-2809.jpg

I dont update much anymore because...I gotta be honest...I HATE the "new" IC pic interface. It takes way more time, way more clicks, more pic editing, etc to get pics up so I just dont bother too often. :wallbash:
Ill get some more up later during late flower. Be safe all. :joint:

Your grow is looking good. Too bad you had all those set backs. At least next round you know how to hit it harder. Grow on.
