Mold on recently chopped bud? Now what?

so i just chopped some nyc diesel and the buds are all looking great in the glass jars. i had been opening them in the morning and at night for about 10 to 15 minutes or longer with the ceiling fan on and the lights out.

i just went to take all the buds out and flip them and they all looked great. then i get to my biggest bud. the top of my #1 main cola and it looks like it might be some (purple-ish) mold? i am not really sure but i think its mold. it looks a little darker than the buds around and it almost looked like a fine web?

does this sound like mold or do you think this could be a little spiderweb? if it is mold what exactly should i do?

Thats mold, cut it out and dry well outside of jar.

it appears very obvious from this picture that it is mold because the mold looks blurry, but it looks almost like a web around the main stalk. i already cut it out.

the nyc diesel is smelling sweeter and sweeter every day. actually smelling a little like some coffee grinds or vanilla or something i can't quite put my finger on. smells good though definately

Damn that sucks, I had 3oz of GFxSK I just made a huge batch of ISO hash because of powdery mildew.
Alot of growers jar too soon, yes they can seem very dry but the stems must snap and then some, it is alot easier to remoisten the buds while in the jar using an orange peel or a humidor pad than it is to contend with mold.

I didn't like the added orange peel flavors, smells, so I learned to use a piece of lettuce to rehydrate....All the benefits, none of the tastes!

Good call Lola, I usually use the orange peel to rehydrate when I got a batch of bone dry outdoor that tasted like hay
Lettuce or humidor patches should keep the taste pure, good call.

For rehydrating bud in jars, a small piece of fresh bud is the best, it adds exactly what is needed without any funky flavors.

That mold web forms right in the big buds while they are growing, I tossed a couple zips of huge buds last harvest that was that way, I don't use it cause I don't want my lungs fucked up any worse than they are.

Humidor patches, and fresh buds are great ideas too!

I like the lettuce idea 'cause it's easy to get and cheap! I am a cheap rascal! I used to use apple slices, but didn't like the tastes, smells.

sometimes if I have yucky weed, I'll throw in an orange peel to get rid of the hay smell too! Tangerine is good sometimes! But if it's killer bud, lettuce is the way to go!

Back on subject of mold.....I haven't tried it, but reliable source (StinkyAttic) sez to make cannabutter if you have moldy buds. I was told the mold wouldn't hurt ya if you make cannabutter...just a thought

are you sure you got all the mold? cuz moldy weed smells exactly like you're describing a sickeningly sweet kinda smell.

hey man i bet if next time before you jar your buds up that if you nit pick and remove all that dead leaves running deep into the buds you'll solve you're mold problem.
