5k US for a bong. For that much I would buy a simple glass tube bong ya know pull carb style.... a volcano a bubble box and a trip to Amsterdam
1. I have personally had Slinger custom work. Double bub production, slinger sig marble, orange honeycomb, two donut mouthpiece (kind of resembled a seahorse). I was also the first person to have a Slinger dub that used 12mm down stems in each can. A first for him, and he did it specifically for me, because he knew just how long I had waited to get that piece. Whether that's changed in the last 5 years, I don't know, but I would be willing to bet he would blow one for me. I'm one of his first "Fan boys", back before people like yourself had even heard of the man. I got my Slinger, about a month or so after BOG received his Dubbler Sidecar. I believe I was like 16 maybe 17, and by then had already waited a good 2-3 years to buy mine. If I had 5k to throw at a piece, and that's what it took for me to have a bad ass dub from him, then I would do it. That hit is worth it. Ya know, if I had 5K to just throw at a piece. I miss it greatly. Pure function with a little fuming and a couple marbles. I remember cashing a 0.7 bowl in one hit a few minutes after opening the box.
2. If you don't know what California Roor is, then you shouldn't be talking. You know those pretty roors with bent mouthpieces and tree style percs? ya, California Roor came out with that several years ago. HashBoss from Overgrow was an expert on Cali Roor. He and his friend, who also had an OG.com account (can't remember his name) had SEVERAL California Roors. They exist in California. Everywhere else is German. HashBoss has an account here, maybe he can post his up? He also had German/Mike Fro collab Roors. Very sick.
3. Research? Oh, like the decade I have spent buying and using glass, from spoons, to headie dry pieces, to headie bubs to headie tubes. I started using Glass on Glass WAY before they were popular. Back when only the 'in the know' people bought Roors or Pure (or BD). That's when JBD was the big thing. Blowing glass has always been and still is a viable option for a career. Probably get into it as a hobby when I have my own house. I love glass. Love it.
4. If that site ordered the piece, then yes, they are morons. Anyone who buys that piece is retarded. It's just not any type of value to anyone who knows anything about glass. You should know a roor is good for their joint and glass quality, which is exceptional. Are you honestly going to try and tell me anyone would gain any type of respect for buying that crap? Now bust out a headie piece and see what happens. I probably got more 'props' for my Slinger piece than all of my tubes combined. It wasn't even headie, just function production with a few specified details of my own (marble types and donuts) but told him to do whatever he wanted with those and everything else.
Maybe you should do some research or quit trying to criticize people who have been into glass far longer than you. My info is probably dated, but it was true when I kept up with this stuff.

He said he would do it, but I just never got the funds in time. He actually offered to replace the dub he blew for me, but I really hate getting things for free. Especially when it was ultimately my fault that it broke.

If I ever did have the funds though I would track em down...or MadMax , Jason Lee.... Really love Jason Lee' color work... MadMax has a kind of hippie feel to me... Love it though..
Have you seen Slingers brothers work? Pablo I believe? Also - do you know or remember an artist that colors with fuming exclusively? Like...very very bad ass fuming...beyond anything you've seen, unless you have seen his work
was dementia the shop in L.A. that carried them? I'm pretty sure CaliRoors had nothing to do with german roor... I might be able to get a answer from HBoss though... a friend actually bought a ripoff of the tree perc style from some offbrand company...they might not be off-brand, but IDK...

Bak on overgrow I posted an idea for what was basically a stemless double perc catcher (GonG)...it would have used the old school stemless type of setup....with the carb being it's own tube running parallel to the can... people said it was unpractical, but damn....looking at that thing in your gallery, I feel kind of..ripped off lol...
I think this says a lot about where the pot movement/cannabis culture is present state. The fact that this bong is on the market says "weed is acceptable, and there are socio-economic tiers of users". Granted, this is only for the bling-blinga-ist of us, but still, interesting where this whole scene is going.

Hmm I remember another glass forum Slinger linked me to that was pretty much only blowers... don't think it's tokecity, because it was a really 'ghetto' forum software. They could have changed it, but I don't think the site itself was specifically about glass pipe making.

Love his work so much.. I like pieces that incorporate transparency rather than just being covered completely with 13~ sections...Always wanted a bub w/ basic 'light' gold fuming and like 3-4 separate sections.. using colors that would compliment the pink fuming.. Inline seems like it works good, but I think my idea was a lot less...bulky? Mine might have had suction problems though, maybe that's why he made it like that...
My idea was basically a stemless ashcatcher with a perc chamber on-top of it, with the downstem piece mounted on-top of the perc. The stemess piece would be a female GonG joint... no clue if it would work worth a damn or if it would be practical, but damn did it sound cool to me
