That was the purple NCDG that I seeded. If you go WAY back in this thread...Im sure there's a pic of her and the daddy in the boom boom room executive suite...heh VERY vigorous NCDG male was chosen. I picked the fastest AND stockiest, overall healthiest (lots of ists) father outta the 4 males I got of the NCDG. thus, the gorgeous purp lady below with all her seeds. I seeded 2 mothers, since I didnt know which of them would be my winner, the other 6 ladies were good, but these 2 stood out. Only got like30 beans outta the purp, but 100 outta the candy green pheno.

I've often wondered if there was THAT much diff between my reg 1kW and a Hortilux.
So many things have turned out little more than hype.

But, after hearing y'all talk 'em up so much, I might have to give 'em a try.

I too love the EYE Hortilux bulbs. I think they put out a little more blue than Sunmasters do. I will never look back. Are the bulbs you are using the Super Blue?? Those thngs are expensive as hell bro! Are they worth it??

Swamp, peat- si....super blue. XCrispi over at cann com and stinkyattic turned me on to em. I swear by em now. XC did a side by side with the sunmaster...11% yield difference.

I didn't get a purple pheno
But I still have lots more of em to try thanks to that crazy old guy we all love . My 1st try w/ the NCDG coulda been chopped at 49 days but I let em go 54 so there was more amber . We've managed to smoke almost a lb. of it in the last 4 mos.

I've done The Church a cpl. times as well and found a super stinky skunk pheno I really liked .

On the Hortilux subject - I even veg w/ the damn things . Buy em in 6 pks. like beer I do . 1000 bulbs has really reasonable prices on them when bought by the case .

About what do you yeild w/ a 5 gal. pot using soil / soiless bro. ?

XC-heeeey...I didnt even check the yield on my last 2, they were both seeded up. I am running them in organic soil 5 gal this go round, so I can answer that in a few months...lol. I also got a super skunky church...purpled on me too! I got 5 beans from that attempted cross, hope ONE is viable at least..lol (NCDG x Church)

then divide by how many hours a day you use it.
then start calculation down to days/weeks/months.

We use the EYE of Hortilx for both veg & flower too, but not the super blue...Just replaced it after about 1 month into the 4th grow, I think...

Either time frame will work for me.

They lose lumens over time.......it's not like your reading lamp where it just goes one day which is why they recommend replacing it once a year.......or per x hours as Rock said.
