It is Legal...that is why they didn't arrest anybody--Eventually the "Interstate Commerce" clause will be shot down as too vague--
That is the only reason the Feds have been able to interfere with State Law...because they use the "Possibility" of marijuana from a Dispensary crossing State lines--

For the most part, they actually are not arrested or charged. Of course there are a few unlucky ones that either drew too much attention or were simply shafted by the Fed. The usual routine is to show up, take everything they want, and leave without a single arrest.

It's like when you get arrested and are released from county, yet have to sign a promise to appear. The DA needs time to assemble the case.

I tried to find the link (but couldn't), I thought it was norml, that had a list of all past, current and pending fed cases.

FYI the list was quite long.

Just wait, I promise you that list will triple in size within 4 years. Don't believe me, sit back and have some kool aide and watch as it happens.

So lemme ask, since Obama apparently isn't interested in prosecuting MMJ cases, will he just let all those pending go.

I don't think you understand my experience with coops and raids and the law... I am not taking my stance because i read some books or articles I have been at the front line.

i know all about the everyday people. people who've had their kids taken after their shop was raided.... and who also got their kids back once the dust settled and charges were dropped after $200k on legal fees. but I guess shop owners aren't regular everyday people

95% of clubs raided in LA are open the very next day after there raided, the feds are afraid if they charge every case somone might win and set a precident(they rather just rob the shops). Really sounds like you had an oppurtunity to gain a unique perspective first hand, me too. It occured to me very fast that MMJ laws here in California are about as worthless as the paper the recs are written on. Just my opinion

You are right, they are/were on the front lines. And they are often demonized for making money, all the while it's understood that at any moment their lives as they know them could be taken from them. Then when push comes to shove, the most important thing to patients seems to be, "how far do I need to drive now."
Personally coming from someone on the inside of this, MMJ laws here in California are worthless.
But everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess, until it changes I will sit back and watch the same boring crap happen over and over again, until some more people wake up.

I do live here, have been a "patient", have been involved first hand in raids, and have dealt with the aftermath.
They may re-open in L.A., and they may not be charged in L.A., but the state is bigger than 1 city.
Again, like to point out that many operate in L.A. illegally, the legal ones are the easiest to hit, and they often take the brunt of DEA actions while more shady operations maintain because of the very nature in which they operate.
I tell you what, I have met so many people that "live here and are med patients" that don't have a fucking clue. They know what they are told. Hate to be the one to break it to ya, but L.A., is not exactly the culmination of societal evolution, and yes, it may in fact be possible for someone on the outside looking in to have something worthwhile to point out. Maybe.
But my point is, it is pretty damn silly to assume someone must be from Montana if they have a disagreeable opinion. So far I hear alot of the same bull shit from advocates etc....and surprise, same results.
