Yes yes yes, top top top bend bend, a nd train her as much as you can, so you end up with a 2' Bush, put 12 in 5 gal bags under one light and you should end up wi 1 1/2- 2 lbs..

Unless you end up with holes in your cannoppy then subtract from there....

This is what you want your Canopy to look like in order to get a fat yield from a purple, :

she needs to be Multi topped and trained into a dense even canopy, no-matter-what!

I'd let her go 9-10 weeks but many take her 8-8.5, but if you want her to turn black, go the full 9.5-10, and you will also add a significant amount of yield.....

Good Luck!

Here are some examples:
This is what my Purple Bushes look like about 1 week b4 flowering

also consider LST. my bro has turned me into a fan. i used to get maybe an ounce from an untopped, untrained GDP. my bro LST'd, just under three zips in same container, same light, same nutes. convinced me. gotta do one of em for sure. good luck

well, I pretty much agree w/ thebandit777 on everything he said , as that is 1 for sure way to get your gdp or even urkle to yield 2lbs per 1k but I have ran into a problem that leads me to grow her another way my next round and so on, sog.

I use to do bushes , hell got several almost/if not 1/2lb-3/4lb bushes going now but never again I tell you.
My biggest problem is the branches will not stay up, which always leads to me using 1000 bamboo stakes and them still falling all over the place, lol

This round just to check it out I did 2k of sog vs 2k of bushes. Still several wks to go but they look like they will yield the same , none of the sog plants got shit leaning everywhere , and they also will not end up having million little buds to deal w/ which is nice thinking of it,lol

I hear alot of people saying gdp or urkle doesn't yield much but to me they are my best yielding strains I grow , way past by bubbakushbx4 I found and kept over the pre98 BK , the buds dont get big but they are solid and weight heavy , if you dare try some gravity out and see some of the hardest buds in your life , well atleast that hasnt been vaccum sealed.

have fun, shes nice to grow. oh and smell control is a major f'ing must w/ her, get a carbonfilter 1 to 2 sizes bigger than you think you need, trust me:1help: lol and keep that humidity low , I've never had her rot but wouldnt be surprised in a high humidity area.

man thanks guys! i love this site and the people on here. so much help with so much info. i'll be doing 9 5gal buckets in dwc under 1 1k w/light mover. should i just top or fim her once? i don't want it to get too bushy cuz i'm working with an area of 3x6. i heard she likes to be underfed a little bit am i correct. i'll be using a co2 generator with levels up to 1500ppm. anymore tips would be lovely. thanks guys!!

bandit-- your shit looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! so jealous.. props bro. that's not GDP right? it's Urkel!! do they grow pretty much the same?

Since most indica strains pack on the punch at 10 wks, is it the taste of the bud that we are searching for in the different strains?

hey thanks CC! please let me know what did better cuz i'm trying to maximize my yield. like 2lbs per 1k. :D how hard is it to hit 2lbs per 1k with GDP? thanks bro!!

if u have clones ,under 1 1000? try a 5X5 and keep veg time short...Id be happy with 1lb per 1k with GDP..
bandit-very nice plants man, that nancy looks like somethin special..Romulan IS the dankest indica
here are some baby purps, a close relative of GDP:woohoo:
take care !!

IMO, Real GDP yields best when topped to 6 main branches and given some veg time. 5 gollon pot, 17-18 days veg, co2, 4 per light, 60 days flower gets you 7-8 zips per plant of tight purple nuggies...

hey bushdoctor did you grow GDP or just knew a friend that did? what's the most you guy off one plant?
We`ve been messin with the GDP for about 4 years now. Tried MANY different ways with her and found this was best for us. Had a couple bust the 9 zip mark but most are in the 7-8 range. We do have the Ken`s cut which makes a difference. Personally, I`m glad this strain is finally loosing some of it`s appeal. Even with co2, it just vegges too slow. I`ve thrown misc green strains in the room and had some really impressive single plant yields...

hey bush! so you still got GDP in your garden? what's ken's cut? how long do you veg them for? i need to get them about 10-12in before i throw them in 12/12. how slow are these girls in veg? thanks bro!!

Yea, Still got the GDP in there. Probably the last round with her. We`ve had 2 different cuts of GDP that are nearly identical except for the yield. The "Kens" cut yields better. Well rooted cuttings are vegged for 10 days in 1 galon pots then switched to 5 gallon and vegged 7-8 more days. Co2 at 1200ppm and lots of light. 14" at flip and end up around 30". The guy who said odor controll is a must wasn`t kidding. I suggest a combo of the best carbon filter you can find along with ozone...

So what are you growing them in? Soil or Hydro? How many watts? (sorry if I missed this)

How far in veg are you in?

BTW, thank you Don Chron, Lemonskunk, and mixin, all else who has gave me encouraging positive words 'bout my plants, THANK YOU ALL!

Good luck bron2k......

Will you be posting pics and keeping this thread alive with your cycle? i am really interested in watching your grow.....

Best Regards!
