What is the father of Nirvana white strains?

Does anyone know the father of the so called "white" strains bred by Nirvana? (AK48, Blue Mystic, PPP, etc)

I am guessing White Widow because of the name, but thought I heard somewhere it wasn't

anyone have any insight?

opinions or experiences of the AK48 or the Pure Power Plant?

thanks

Looks like the seeds with (**) were all sourced from different breeders. The only thing that correlates them is that catalogue.. otherwise the lineage in most cases is different.

Hope this helps

The Nirvana Rhino is great weed - I took the description to mean it's genes were the same mom as Widow, and an Indica father from America. It has serious kick...

The AK48 was really good too - the other I haven't run.

I wasn't aware they "farmed out", hmmm.

Dan, you are correct about that sativa Cali-O. I wish I made some seeds. They even had the double leaf serration of the original Cali - O. That stuff took me back to the 70's, no shit. The new Nirvana Cali-O is very indica.

I did make a bunch of Bubblicious seeds though. Very nice sweet musty bubblegum card flavor. Some have a grape smell which is amazing. I guess Bubblicious is a white strain.

sourced to different breeders means what doc?

sourced to different breeders means what doc?

if each breeder is provided identical genetics, then it would be identical results right? the fact that they outsource is actually kind of cool. it may mean that my seeds arent coming from some giant walmart seedbank, but from smaller independents. i like small and independent, its less corporate.

**on a nirvana seed pack means white. im not sure who the daddy is. however, i grew **ICE, and it has special skunk. sickingly dutch sweet, not my favorite flave. now im tryin **wh rhino. no sweet skunk there, so i guess he aint daddy to all **white

"sourced to different breeders means what doc?"

This is from their catalogue...

'Nirvana is a unique business concept... The highest quality at the fairest prices has been achieved through operating similar to a farmers co-op. Nirvana's breeders maintain a strict breeding regime. Mother and father plants are kept to supply the many small contracted growers with clones of the exact genetics to produce our seeds... This also means that when you purchase Nirvana seeds you are supporting small growers like yourself. The whole process is very efficient allowing our prices to stay low."

Mau makes most of Nirvana's strains by crossing production female clones to his 'special' Purple Skunk male, this is why there are purple phenos in many of Nirvana's Lines. Some of their strains are bought in from other people - NL x Big Bud for example, was done by the people behind Female Seeds.

this is what I have heard before and it makes sense. a quick browsing of a few nirvana grow threads reveal at least 4-5 strains that have purple tendencies (i.e. the calyxes turn very purple, very cool looking). also accounts for the skunky undertone found in much of nirvana's stuff.

I see that Sensi Seeds is the only seed company that has actually trademarked their strains (of course being able to enforce it in this business is a whole other story).

Sensi and Greenhouse have their strain names Trademarked, which is why Shanti had to rename White Widow Black Widow and White Rhino Medicine Man after he left GHS.
