"Run Off" is when you over water and it drains out the bottom of the pot... or it can also just be drain to waste hydro... many times one must check the PH/PPM of the "run off" water to get a more accurate reading...

thanks for the prompt reply :)

I was sure thats what it meant - but couldnt get a straight answer when I asked in other peoples threadds.. thats what I get for hijacking ;)

so a 10% run off is 1/10th of the water I put in the pot I was watering? (10 ltr pot = 1 litre run off = 10% runoff?)

thanks again

Yeah man. You don't gotta like sit there and measure it though. If it runs out slow and drips that's probably like 5% runoff.

perfect, thanks again. it seems like a real stupid question I know, but when we're talking about feeding lovely plants or just drowning them, I think its worth looking silly for 5 mins now eh ;-)

There are no stupid questions... I feel like we are all smart people...the only stupid ones are the ones that don't try to help answer or enlighten people... Don't hesitate to ask! Many people including me... on this site would love to help ya... Karma for everyone ;)
