Lineage of Reef's Kodiak Gold?

Anyone know the lineage of Reeferman's Kodiak Gold? Something other than the strain description please. I know it's an IBL but of what?

Thanks ArcticBlast. I got some KG freebies last year from the bay. 1 of 5 germed and it was a male. The only girls I had going at the time were some FMS Grapefruit so I tossed some KG pollen on the GF females. I have 3 females of this cross going at the moment, 2 GF pheno and one KG pheno. The KG pheno is frosting up nicely at 35 days. Can't wait to sample the KG pheno. :smoke:

Just an Opinion but I had no luck with this strain as far as satisfaction. I know some people digg the guy around here and that's all good I mean know ill will. For the $ there are solid choices elsewhere. Sorry If I offended.

I can't remember the lineage of the KG. Are you sure? I thought I remembered C-ray (lucifer) saying that it was an inbred line when they got it. Reef just took it to F8.
Anyways, I ran it a couple times and was not that impressed. It out crosses very well. I hit one with some PTK pollen that turned out great. The two strains each brought something good to the mix. One day I might get around to running more to find something special.
Here is KG x PTK

I got a pack off of SB when they were liquidating Reef's stuff, and snagged a pack of Kodiak Gold. Not a one popped.

The lavender phenos showed up about f9's I think, it is really lovely herb. Very indica nuggets, both the lav and the white pheno's I grew out a few years back. He used lav males on his blue sativa fem to make his blue thunder which was also a lovely flower. The KG can be an excellent mind med, hope you get a nice gal.

I've still got a pack of the BlueThunder on ice. I need to crack these and find a Blueberry Sat leaning pheno. I've read Reef's BS cut was the shit. I've seen some beautiful pics of both KG phenotypes.:yummy:

The new version of Kodiak gold is from the f-4 or f5 generation , in the f-8 generation we started seeing huge numbers of lavender phenotypes , they are more rare in the f-4-f5 generation the golden /green phenotype is much more potent .
You will find more Lavender highlights in the f-4 C-ray and I were blown away when out of nowhere we started getting the electric purple plants from the kodiak , I had thought the line lost until a uncle on the East coast gave me back a number strains we had sent him Kodiak included .
His Kabul and Auto Afghani's were part of DAS and TAS and many Prairie fire seeds going back to 96 .
The Kodiak gold was the 1st growing Cannabis plant I ever witnessed , I was 15-16 on a fishing trip to Kodiak Island Ak with my Dad he has a friend vietnam vet it was being grow in a leanto on the side of his house he had a roll up tarp and was darkening the plants , I totally did not understand wtf he was doing but I sure wanted to ! I was amazed I had only had brick weed and thai stick and some hash , I was amazed at the idea of growing my own weed , I was allowed to smoke with him and some other guys an they gave me a film case 25% filled with seeds , thank goodness my much older wiser uncle jim negotiated a deal to be the care taker of those seeds ironically he has played that role more than once and really inspired and taught me so much he just once again gave me back the Kodiak golds and a whole bunch of other genetics that he shared with me over the years and I had shared with him .
I honestly can not say what is in the back ground if I had to guess I would say Hash plant and highland mexican maybe .
Its proof strong weed is nothing new !

I have grown KG for many years from RM as well as B. Thunder and B. Neaples... and as an OLD grower i can can say that IMO., this is one of the best med., strains i have ever grown. I got 1 green pheno and 1 purple pheno.... and they will kick ur ass to h.... defently not for day smoke... ull go down :) But as far as i remeber its a croos of Blue berry Sativa/g13 and MTF... and that says a LOT... but as said " as i recall". I will grow it the rest of my life as i need it for pain, sleep and just get extremly stoned in the evening. Hope somebody will make seeds for everyone to enjoy. I might run a P. pheno and seed it if there is any interest from Bros on seedbay. Together with B. Thunder. VERY STRONG WEED !!!

I can assure you that the Kodiak gold is not a hybrid of blueberry or G13 It was a IBL when I received it .
Now we crossed it to many strains , its superior breeding plant than it is for terminal use it outcrosses exceptionally its golden in every hybrid I have used it in , keep that in mind when purchasing IBL's vs F1's if your goal is to get superior smoke and yields go with a f-1 if you are trying to produce great f-1's than buy ibl's

I managed to get 17 year old Kodiak Gold seeds to germinate here in the Caribbean not as big a number as I wish but pretty impressed they went at all , the old stuff that was on the bay actually "lost" by dutch grown way back when gypsy still had a shop in Amsterdam so I am not surprised that they did not pop , its old water under the bridge . But the seeds I just got to germinate have been kept in a fridge pretty constantly since , We also got OPT s-1 from 2003 to germinate .
The Kodiak Gold Plants have been in veg for at least 4 months now and look great I will post some pictures the Kodiak gold is a old school strain from Kodiak island the guys who were growing it were Vietnam vets who retired from Fort Brag NC like my father as far as I know .
