Rocks at bottom of pot - no-no

Rocks at bottom of pot - no-no

... with a small layer of lava rocks at the bottom of the pots and on the top too.

Hey FreedomFGHTR -

Sorry I cant help you with your nute choice, but I did notice something in your write-up that I felt obliged to 'help' you with:

The rocks at the bottom of your pot - you won;t need it for drainage with coco, since coco drains fine by itself, and I have read on many places (not just ICMag) that it is an old dated practice. Rather fill that bit of pot with coco and give the roots more space.

If you want, you can mix a few rocks (small ones) in with your coco - as I believe bennies like to sit on things like charcoal, pottery shards and such.

Hope you get a hand with that nutes soon - I do not have access to either one of them, so I just use a one part powdered hydro nutrient - probably the worst kind you can find, but it works.

Don't worry too much about the brand/type - important: start off with 1/2 the recomended dose - I use 1/3 of mine.

And if your temps / ventilation / airflow is good, your choise of nutrients does not matter that much IMO.

Some members here swear by Canna nutrients -

Others use urine...:nanana:

Anyway - good luck and good growing

The roots coco mix allready has bits of pumice, perlite, and ew castings. So I think I am good with that.

Hey, my pleasure man!

Next run test a pot with pure coco - the hard-core coco-heads swear by pure coco...

...although your mix should work just fine... Infact, I like to add some Dolomite Lime to my coco - results are brpbly just in my head...placebo you knw...

...or I would have fell for AN's marketing hype...

ha ha - I once saw an AN youtube clip - all I can remember is...

PH UP.......PH DOWN .......PH UP ........PH DOWN......

LOL

My pH meter is a permanent ornament in my medicine cabinet, behind the asprin....
but if you feel more confident with a sword in your hand, go for it, as most ppl do...

It was more of a synthetic vs syn organic vs pretty damn organic thing for me

CHARLIE HORSE!!!!!!

That one you will get as many opinions here as ppl. Best to decide for yourself.

Keep well...

Of all those products I've only used PBP. I'm currently using canna for my flowered plants and PBP for the vegers.

are you trying for organic coco? if that's not an issue than i would go with one of these three, 1st choice would be House & Gardens complete coco program, this has been a 10 for me, second would be AN's monkey juice line, and of course canna's line for coco, i have run all three and currently use the HG, least expensive and largest fruit. jc
