What reasons due you suspect caused it?.......has to be limited options as to what occurs...(I wouldn't be able to rest until knew exactly why....)

What kind of diet?, when and how treated?, what ages?, etc....

they all germ'd, and within a week of being put in promix, they all died. turned brown and shriveled around the base with "lesions" further up. only 4 actually made it long enuf to have true leaves, but all have died now. i kept the last 2 till yesterday in an "incubator" (just a small container with a clear lid) but they are dead. just no way for the water to get to the green when the stem is brown and dead... most of them had healthy roots. i put the soil in the oven on 500 for an hour today and tossed it in the compost pile. who knows. i sent a msg to owner of the seedbank i got them from just as an FYI, and hopefully if there is a problem, others will tell him or post on these forums. surely it was my own fault somehow, or there would be a hundred posts about it...potheads dont have much to do but bitch

Losing half of anything is a problem, unacceptable, and completely preventable.

ya it surely is, and my good spots wont have much loss...really i dont expect that much loss even from something like that, but i figure on it, then im happy come september :smile: im on my own this year, for all aspects, so that was a hypothetical for my extra fem beans....no desire to keep them another year, and they are worthless for breeding....to my mind at least... i have good breeding stock for seed stock to run out over winter for fem seed for next season....

I m with you on that one J..always find myself saying that each season.."should have put more in here". Well this yr I wont being saying that ..........because Im putting more in there every time. I see it like this..say I do 20 to 30 spots of 50 or so seedlings per.....if I harvest 10 of the spots thats 250 girls.......

Fungus/disease/damping off?

Went through same once, and was old batch which was stored in questionable conditions....assume mold/fungus.......started beautiful....rapid, was happy (20yr old stock), and, started dropping like flies overnight....looked up everything possible, several remedies, etc....(which could of could be prevented by pre soak wash from my understanding, but....I've never before....and never after, so....

Maybe someone else with specifics can add something but the above my suspicion and what I found looking it all up....

Never had it before that and never after it.....(and quite possibly never again....)

(Still have that stock...forgot about it...lot of very nice old stuff.....that's the RKS stash (and a lot of small amounts of other things.....)....Was thinking about it during this answer and more optimistic about running the rest....

Losses always factored in but if one gets them in right, no reason should have problems....before last season due to others errors, loss was minor....less than 5%, and, most of the time, even less......mentioned earlier in thread (my losses previous).....

Key is getting them in right way. Dictates everything to follow....jmo

Well, when one knows that before starting season....season always turns out well .....Fuck man....I still say that often about things here and there......could have done better spacing, more per, etc, etc.......

As above though man....one shouldn't walk in with losses in mind.......think it bleeds over into behavior, work and prep, etc.......(losses possible and acceptable, but......as above....approach right, get them in right, etc, and should come in well......)

Any and every step taken (or not) even from planning determines success.....every task.....every action......all has a direct effect on plants...all about a series of issues that all come together....sinking, rains, in growth, caging, trimming spot, etc, etc, etc...hole...prep of hole...time of planting, etc.....

All determines what's to follow.....

I'm big on the "get them in right and your good to go"...

You know...have to keep in mind highest and best use of space.....efficiency, etc.....which sometimes changes as space changes........(space can "change" any number of ways.....from early and mid surrounding veg being unanticipated.....patterns of veg, events near location, prep and execution and revision of plans one goes along, etc,....

Speaking of which, can anyone reccomend any specific seed banks that are better for larger purchases? as in 1000-2000 seeds? I don't feel very comfortable ordering from a site that doesn't bother to reply to emails.

That would be the same as any business matter, being whatever two parties negotiate, or not, and agree to.

One might be more comfortable handling transaction personally, and handling shipping themselves also.

(One should also anticipate a shipping premium for "special" arrangements.....but of course most think shortsighted......ie: What's more costly?, $250 extra for special shipping?, or losing a $2-3-4k+ order?)

And, please.... no one ask about anything above. It is all self explanatory. If can't figure it out , have no business conducting such transactions and certainly not heading such operations.

I believe at this point by continuing, all that will be assured is significant points diluted, and are becoming such.

Of course no shortage of indicators many did not get past first paragraph (origin, purpose, links, and so on)....and has continued to be such.....(as is the case, and always has been, even in one page threads, which one see's daily in every forum, and through new threads created.....)

I believe this has truly addressed in extensive detail virtually every aspect one might face from concept through planning, through accumulation, through execution, ending with assets, and much applicable to indoor also....

I know you requested no more posts but I just felt that a great big THANK YOU was due... This has been an excellent thread from the first page to the last and although your right and many folks either totally missed the point or just havent used this opportunity for discussion and learning. I also know that for many of us this has been a real eye opener in so many ways, showing us new ways of accomplishing ones goals and excellent advice and input on everything from growing to business to self improvement and so much more.

I just spent a hour or so copying the whole thread so I will have this valuable resource to reread and learn from for a long while to come. Hopefully thread just gets locked but of course do whats best for yourself .

Hello julian, and apologies for not following your wish to not post to this thread, but...

I'm relatively new to this forum, and have been reading this thread (all 150some pages of it) and have to say this is some of the best stuff ever that I have come across. It merits rereadings, plural, because I couldn't read all in one week, took me 2 months on my phone to read it all.

I am however, and have ben, in the planning stages for my first ever grow... will start with indoor and then go outdoor. It has been a good 8+ months in the planning ans will take more time as I am taking my time because I know shit changes from time to time depending on situation, and the fact that I am trying to cover as many bases as I can.

I don't mean to sound like a kiss ass, but this info is the best, and don't let anyone tell you different.

I feel that there is a little I Ching stuff that is halfway intuitive, but 90+% of it is stuff that takes years to hone, fine tune, relearn, etc (that 50+ years before you can even begin to understand?) Even I have been trying to learn how to better myself... and think I may have been going about it the wrong way! But as long as no big harm is done and I remai n open to learn new thins, I say that is a good thing, no?

Hi Julian,

I just wanted to give my props to you. It takes a lot of time to compile such extensive information, and it's obviously done out of good will. This thread not only showed me the way, but more importantly inspired me to follow my heart.

I understand that it takes work and perseverance, yet I find comfort in knowing that a rewarding and prosperous life is possible. I've been sifting through information for years, and it's not often that one gains the opportunity to learn from a person who's been there, done that.

I've been down south talking about some things....didn't really know what to do with it, etc....start new one, etc....which would seem to actually be of little service as much as curiosity and porn....(large scale....)

Was thinking of something after an extremely close call.....("extreme" as into it I had already mentally gone through disposition of assets, what to tell family(ies), assumed everything was over....for everybody....we were all done....my life and family also........and, occurred to me a shame can't share all those things....(because of course who knows where anything here goes and to whom...might be recognized......)

Me and mine?.....Almost all agree, even those who have no interest in spirituality........the universe stepped in this week in a strong way.......

Point being....all those things....span many topics.......and, while we all say the universe.....well, we did all do our parts also....so...(security, precautions...procedure followed, etc......)

Sticky and such?......I don't know....has drawn more than enough attention already....from the curious to the serious (tip of glass to them) to the trolls to the questionable....and my own personal opinion is stickies and such should be more basics...(ie: Things for people to turn to instead of posting same questions over and over....a basics section if you will...just my opinion which in this case means absolutely nothing at all.........)

Really wish I could share recent.......3 people basically agreed one could almost "Feel the hand of God" in the protection received......in 5 seconds.....everything and everyone risked.....in a split second, an out of the blue random occurance to compleyely cover and protect anything happening......

Leaves me in a very thoughtful and contemplative mood....(the potential problem was the most minor of things.......ie: a pin dropped in an ocean......that washed up right to the feet of the wrong people......who ended up not seeing it, not stepping on it, but turning away as it washed right up to their feet.....

I was ready to start making calls...took a deep breath.....phone was in hand open......expecting visits...(warrants, arrest), notifying family.....calling people to handle cleaning out my houses....

I thank the above....I do...really......and will try and get to all.....going to eventually get some serious solid sleep.....then see my family.....spend some time with them...real...meaningful time.....which I just almost lost forever.....

I've had a very long life...starting quite early.....built myself a lot of things from nothing.....(We might even have someone stop in here that knows me to say once saw me turn $2,000 into $1,000,000 in 1 year....) ....some cases were easier ways...more efficient ways...safer ways....ops, money, business's, etc....and in some cases as I told someone recently....could have all blueprints right in front of you but still have to do it yourself and re-adjust as you go along......to fit ones own preferences....desires...objectives, etc.....

These are all serious matters.......there is no room for anything negative....no room here....no room in ones life....in those who surround one......one "can't" person can hold 10 back..........

But always keep in mind the bigger picture......the world around us.......

I recently surprised someone who wasn't aware of what I do and how I do things.......(ie: This guy a good family guy, so going to be getting new car and give him my current one (nice car)......profit from another thing goes to another guy to get him and family into a new house (their first house)......on another thing, everyone gets a surprise bonus.....long time people...good people, family people....10-20k each.....).....

Was talking to an old friend today about making a t-shirt:
"I just made $500,000 and all I got was this fuckin t-shirt" .....(literally.....comes in......goes out....and I get a couple cheeseburgers with what's left.......)

What would it matter if any of us had 1-5-10-even 20MM in cash today, while those we care about, those who have stood by us the longest went without?..

Fuck the product, it's replaceable and easily made.....primary planning is everyone comes home.........everything else easily repaired, replaced, redone....

When I first started looking at your threads......I thought damn alot of reading no pics etc...but another Big Cat....suggested I read it over.
