Micro Scrog, Help! Lighting choices...

Hello all, I am building a Stealth Scrog(teehee..?) and need lighting help, here are my night stand designs, and need to choose between 4 42w cfls, -Reasoning? Scrog that can have lights really close, ultimately leading to lesser height cab overall, Or a 150w Hps cooltube vaportight, remodeled via quazi instructions, heres some pics to explain, that area below the growspace is my electric room, i run my light on 12/12, my fan on 12:15 /11:45 (so my cooltube glass doesnt get hot from the 15 mins or so that the light is still hot while its off), and the fan on a fan dimmer depending on ambient temperature, humidity inside, and overall my setup, and in the bottom corner is just to keep air moving in the canopy

And the HPS system, in the upper right is my fan, and the rest is stuffed full of insulation to get rid of all noise possible, forgot to put the holes, but there will be holes drilled where the fan blows out,intake is where the leg is at

Soo whats your guys's verdict, obviously i cant have a 4 foot tall night stand for a HID, but 150's are pretty small.. and cool tubed, but if u look, the cfls are basically gettin cooltubed-the tube , CFL WATT-LUMEN COUNT 168watts, 11,200, with the HPS its 150 watts for 16,000, plus the increases density of buds, just not sure i can harbor that much room, but think of it like this also... i have X room (ill update thread with the max height the flower spot can be) and Scrogs dont gain height except for the buds.. which arent super long... and the HPS Could possibly chill in the same spot 8-12 inches above the screen

Hmm.... 6 inch high pots, with 6 inchs of stem to canopy, how close can a 150w hps cooltube get to plants?Anything else you might recommend? I currently have 7 cuts im trying to root, and a good way to test drive this would be a small sog of each to try out which one i like more... and then dial her in StealthyScrog Style..

actually the vaportight is currently unavailable we need pics not drawings you can use your cell phones built in camera or a digital camera and upload them so we have a better idea of what your talking about what cfm fan are you looking at for cooling your 150w if you have never grown before i think cfls are going to be more practical for your situation your going to need a good size fan to cool that 150 but like i said before all that can be determined you need to post pics

Sorry im terrible at drawing, real life or computer, anyways, its the 4inch canfan+filter from htgsupply.com , its 170cfm, and i was possibly going to get a fan dimmer for summer/winter applications, its not my first time growing, not by any means, but its my first time going micro, as things had to be compromised.. the cab hasnt been built, but it will be as soon as i figure out my height (Ie my lighting), I got a mother cab atm but its getting tore down and moved to an area thats locked up anyhow(its a crawlspace, door is always locked, its outside of the house, but ive already tested, and with a blanket in the winter with no exhaust, just air moving around the inside, stays consistently 65-75 degrees farenheit night-day) so its two clones put in the area, i was going to email econolight tonight about when they get the vaportights in, and in the meantime its trial an error runs without plants, I would be vegging up the screen, but im going to be doing a small sog of my girls, to weed out some guys, and to see what the end product is on them, checking out that link on cmh, i think im gonna go with the vaportight this grow, because ill have my ballast and everything from the vaportight, just switch out to the cmh bulb

Well they discontinued their sale of vaportights for good, due to lack of sales.. So Cfls will be the route im taking..... unless someone knows where i could get vaportights for cheap with not needing to buy bulk

there are some cheap good 150 watt ballast at businesslight.com i think it is. You have to buy the mogul/medium base and bulb separate. Im in the process of order things to make a 150 watt cooltube also.

go for a hps in a cooltube, you will not be disapointed with it. mount your hps bulb so that you have the light coming from the sides of the bulb going to each end of the cab, so if you are building a cab make sure it has enough depth. buy the hps and cooltube and stuff before finalising your cab design, you will know what your working with then.

also look at the "150w hps club" thread and see how other people are using them.

I actually said cooltube many times, and at the other guy, i found the 40 one your talking about, but im not sure i would know how to setup the ballast on that one, but quazi would drop a line to the thread then i would more then likely get it, would someone be ever so kind to send him a pm? you cant link directly to it, but yes that $42 is the one people are using instead of the cheapo one. remote ballasting will be pretty similar, its just making the wires to the bulb socket longer and putting the ballast into a box.

I actually im going to go Dr bud on this one, cfls are less heat to deal with, and since im dealing with the exact floor print as Drbud (2 sq feet) if i can get a 27 plant sog going with 210w of cfl's if i can get half the weight he pulls ~7 grams, putting me at a little over 3.3 ounces of a great variety of buds up to 27 different strains/phenos
