Flowering with Metal Halide

I am wondering if anyone out there uses 1000 watt metal halides to flower their plants. More specifically I am wondering if people use hortilux blue bulbs in those lamps. Why do you use MH over HPS, and what differences do you note in terms of plant growth, stretching, resin and potency, and flower size and density? I am considering using a 1k MH to replace one of my 600 watt HPS lamps so I was curious what the differences would be.

I am aware of the CMH, the wattage is the one reason I am not researching them yet. That and I will be using a 1000 Watt MH lamp because I simply want to test it - I'm also curious about the whole "UVB gives more resin and THC" thing.

Anyone flower with 1000 W MH lamps?

I dont know alot about this but I am going to flower with my 1000w MH hoping it does good. I have 8 plants under it right now and am 6 days into flower and they are growing amazingly. I am extremly impressed. I will eventually buy a 1000w HPS and do 2 grow rooms. I vegged for no more than 17 days and they were 12 inch tall and really compact. I have limited space so i decided to flower. So me telling you this and from what I know HPS is better but MH will be sufficent. Try it out. HOpe this helps. Ill post pics soon to update you.

Hey these are my AK's at day 28 under a 1000w MH. If we could get a picture of another strain at day 28 under a HPS would be nice to compare. HOpe this helps.

I have flowered many a grow with a MH. No worries man, you will be fine

The Hortilux Blue is a really good lamp. It's spectrum rivals CMH, but it also degrades faster and produces more heat. All things come with trade offs.

i use both mh and hps in flower.

my first ever grow i had 3 1000's hps a didnt have enough money to buy the 4th to finsih the room therefore i used the 1000 watt mh as the fourth 1000 there is a NOTICEABLE difference in the yield compared to a hps.... still worked.... but if i had to do it again i would try to scrounge up the extra 4-500 dollars for the hps...
