One penny weighs 2.5 grams. 10 lbs = 4 535.9237 g.
4 535.9237 divided by 2.5 = 1814.37 pennies or $18.14/10pounds

18.14 x 14 = 253.96

A penny weighs 1.55 grams actually, so just plug that in instead of 2.5 and the math is right.

EDIT: NM I'm wrong, a pennyweight is 1.55 grams, an actual penny weighs 2.5 grams. My bad

The weight of a penny;

year mass (g)
1956 3.2
1961 3.2
1971 3.1
1980 3.1
2001 2.5

there you go, now do the math :nanana:

Do we need to take account of the jar weight or were they weighed on their own?
