Making Keif Pattys!!

So I've been smoking on some superrrr frosty super smelly killer lately that's been getting me stoned off my ass!!
... And I consume most of this bud by grinding a nug at a time in my grinder (with KEIF collector), and snapping big-one hitters of this powdered chronic in my nice "Sour" glass-on-glass zong..

Well, this bud is so frosty that I've been receiving huge ammounts of keif in my grinder!! I put keif ontop of almost every bongrip I take, and this weed is so dam frosty and good that the keif is building up faster than I can smoke it!!

So I came up with a cool idea to use my extra keif.. I took a nice big pile and put it on a plastic card (back of a credit card or library card works fine). I scooped it all in one spot to make a nice thick pile, and compressed the keif by putting another card ontop of the pile and pressing the keif together between the cards using my finger pressure.

A minute or two of hard pressure, I peel the card back, grab a knife to scrape of the "Keif-Patty", and Voila!! And nice, small, quarter-sized, golden pancake of compressed keif!! I plan to break off a small piece at a time and add it ontop of my bongrip, a lot easier than using powder!!

..I'm sure many have tried this method before, I've heard of the mini coin-sized keif press.. About to go try my first bong rip with this golden goodness ontop, looks like a piece of BOMB hash!!! Could it be better than powdered keif in any way??

wow haha nice thats a lot bigger than the keif patty i made!! but wow i just broke off a couple small pieces and put it on top of my killer chronic bong rip and snapped it down, wow i am fried!! i was thinking, i smoked a lot more keif than i usually do since its compressed.. it seams like less but its more and burns a lot better i love it!!

it almost looked like it was starting to bubble a bit and almost melt ontop of my bong rip!! try it its delicious!!

heres how I make my pattys
I have a sharp stone pollen press a ziplock bag and a cup full of hot water
1 fill your press with pollen
2 place sealed press in ziplock bag
3 place ziplock bag in cup of hot water so press is fully submerged give it about 3 to5 mins
4 take bag out of hot water let it sit in glass of ice cold water for anbout 10 min and you will some really nice pattys

putting it in water seems pretty risky... i always liked the method of gettin your skuff, putting it in a grocery bag (plastic) (it won't stick to that type of plastic) and then folding it up and compressing it... a good way to compress it is to put it inbetween two pieces of plywood and run it over with your car.

If you make or buy a press...and keep it under pressure for several hours...it is even better-- Then it is called, "Hash"--
Keef Hash is the best, IMHO--

I've been calling my compressed peice of keif "hash".. How does the pressure make it better-quality? Is it because there is a higher volume/density of keif when compress it so you smoke more at once and burns better?

Either way, I'm loving this compressed keif and it's been baking me all day!! I'm about to try a piece without any weed under it

i like to keep it uncompressed, i use a little scoop (2xinch by 1 1/4 inch playing card section folded in half) then i tap it lightly with my index finger to sprinkle the kief evenly on top of whatever im smoking

sometimes I will pour the kief in a glass of water let it settle and skim off all the green waste then let it dry out before pressing

When you compress it, it allows it to cure-- When it is in powder form, it has enough oxygen to promote mildew-- If you don't want your hash stale...compress it--

Makes a lot of sense, thanks for the info!! I also read that the trichome heads break when keif is compressed which makes it more potent when smoked, is this true? Either way, I'll keep doing this

no disrespect but, in my experiences...
i dont think that air exposure causes mildew... i keep my resins unpressed, and have done so successfully for up to 3 years.

i think thats excess moisture in your hash from the processing methodology.

resin also cures whether or not you have pressed it.

pressing - releases oils by crushing gland heads - actually oxidizing some of the oils giving that sheen/darker color. while this is fine for consumption soon thereafter, thoroughly pressed hash does not store as well as tamped resin powder.

the potency of the piece should remain relatively unchanged between pressed and unpressed. Notably what does change beside consistency (which changes its burning characteristics) is the taste, and some people argue about the effects of the high.
