Hi there
I was wondering if it is ok, to take cuttings from cuttings.

Also the very tips of the fanleaves are yellow, any hints?(flowering week3).

Thanks

Of course, you can clone from clones and so on. Yet, a healthy plant produces clones that are more likely to be vigorous than a sickly one.

My sentiments exactly. I'm not a big believer in the whole you'll use up your genetics Idea. Same plant, New tissue from the old, New Plant equals no problems. There could be exceptions but I just don't know....

no drift stil the same plant and the exact genetic makeup some of us need to read and do a little trial and error befor they answer not trying to be a ass or anything but please people genetic drift how could that be please explain and I'm all ears.I clone tomatoes roses and anyother plant around and I hjave never had genetic drift. My partner has a 27 year old skunk plant that still kicks out some lovely ladies and there still is no drift maybe 30 years in just maybe so have fun find a mother that ya like and keep that bitch until your old and gray.

Thanks Kush... Nice to see others who use experience and the noodle instead of Urban Legend...

I don't know about Urban Legend but I've experienced what I would call genetic drift -maybe-. I had a Sensi Star girl for years that I took clones of clones of clones (over and over). Years later this girl did not yield as well, did not taste as I remembered and generally sucked (may have gotten disease who knows) but I'm assuming it was drift cause all this happened over time. This was my best girl... She would yield 1/4 pound per plant for a 90 to 95 day cycle (my biggest/best plant ever...amazing - I think some people call this pheno the Ogre). After 5 years I couldn't get her to give me more than 1.5 zips per plant (grow room, nutes and other strains stayed the same so I don't think it was me). Just my personal experience...like I said, may have been a pathogen but I don't think so.

-EDIT-
but to answer your question...
it's perfectly fine to take cuttings from cuttings. No worries :joint:

Thankyou guys. I sure benefited from this thread as well. Now I know the truth on cuts. No one will ever tell me different.

In other word as long as you take a healthy cut, the process can go on practically forever and I like that ;-)

They found out that when they cloned dolly, genetics has some kind of ticker.

when thy cloned from an older organism, the clone aged faster.

And I was wondering about the ticker-effect in cloning our beauties. Maybe genetic drift is something like the ticker effect?
