Bagseed Bonanza

Alright, I'm seeing two phenotypes emerging as flowering progresses.

The first type finishes earlier (not sure if it's indica or not), produces more buds and has a greater leaf-to-calyx ratio. I only had two of these plants, one was chopped due to poor performance, the other can be seen on the right in the image above.

The second type finishes later (again, not sure if sativa or not), and has less of a leaf-to-calyx ratio. I have two, maybe three of these. This type can be seen on the left in the picture above.

I discovered this today as the bigger plant's hairs have started to turn red on the lower buds, but none of the other plants have this behavior. As well, the bigger plant simply looks like it's ahead of the others. Don't know how I'm going to reveg her at this point, but we'll see.

Day 39

Where's the trichomes? Where's the bud on the other three plants? I'm starting to dislike this bagseed.

Kinda feel like everything is in autopilot. Older leaves are getting some chlorosis, which is expected. Not much bud growth all around. Maybe I've been looking at them too much.

It is now clear that I have one plant (the big guy) which will likely be chopped first and three plants (the ugly step sisters) that will be chopped later. The bushy one doesn't seem to be producing much bud, which is depressing, because it's taking up a lot of light space.

Hey Funk, thanks for the encouragement, I needed it. Well, as for the trichomes I don't really know. I've read that some strains won't produce a whole lot of crystals... Or perhaps you have some strain which takes forever? I don't know. If you like the one plant then that would be the one to reveg. You're still planning on doing that, right? I am.

My plants are starting to look in rough shape. All of my fan leaves are almost gone now, they've turned yellow and curled up then fell off starting on the bottom and working it's way up. I thought it was N deficiency, lock-out (could be) or pH (could be). I flushed and waited a couple days then fed again.

I sampled both plants and they both taste like Pine-Sol x skunk/fruit. Smallest one seems to be some mix of hash plant. Lots of resin. I'm getting ready to chop the first week of Feb, ready or not. What about you?

I hope your plants cheer up for ya, if not at least you have ONE star! Remember, if you reveg chop only 2/3 off the top, take up to 60-70% of the root mass. Leave the popcorn closest to the main stem.

I'm more excited to see if I can reveg than I am for the harvest, silly isn't it?

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread:rasta:

Lookin real good man. A word of advice though, the plant with the curling leaves may be a light feeder, I wouldn't feed it for the next couple waterings to see if those perk back up. I know I recently had the same thing happen to my Flo, not knowing it was a light feeding strain so I gave it pure H2O for a couple waterings and she perked back up, though she still has yellow fan leaves. . . I'm workin on that right now though. Keep up the good work!

@Mt Toaker - Thanks for your advice! I pulled back on the nutes and fed them fresh water for a little over a week. Just reintroduced some flower formula.

Day 44

Plants are back to normal with some yellowing (expected). The bigger guy is getting ready to go, but not too many trichomes, which is unfortunate. I am going to give her another week and a half to flush out the nasties, then chop her.

Also, I've been taking smoke samples of the bigger plant. When I am able to use my microscope I can tell that only a few clear heads have turned milky. I think it's getting close.

The other plants are going to take a little bit longer. Probably 2-3 weeks more than the bigger plant! Should be interesting to see what happens in these upcoming 4 weeks.

Pics.

@spaceghost - I'm still waffling about the reveg. I will, at the very least, keep the big girl alive until I do a smoke test. I'm looking for a quick/delicious strain, it's already fulfilling one of those criteria.

@Ganja Smile - Thanks!!!

The plan is to purchase some seeds for the next grow. I'm looking at Mr Nice - G13 x Widow and CH9 - Jack 33. Both quick strains and good for dumbasses like myself.

Mr. Nice, eh? Where are you planning on finding those? I checked the boutique and the seed bay to no avail. We're both looking for the same qualities in new beans by the way it sounds. I think I'll be going after Dame Blanche (Fem) by the Flying Dutchman. She's short, easy and packs a little kick. Plus ordering anything off of Seed Boutique or Seed Bay earns you free seeds;

"This shining Lady is the latest refinement of the ‘White’ lines of cannabis – a chunky, all-female strain that’s perfect for beginners or more experienced growers. Cross-breeding White Widow with our Skunk/Northern Lights hybrid results in the White Lady - an Indica-dominant strain with a diverse Sativa background. Dame Blanche is a big, sturdy production plant with strong branching. Seedlings can be put into when quite small – with only a few pairs of leaves – and will normally finish around 1m in height. Budding is fast in the first half of flowering and furious in the latter, when her silky floral clusters topped with long pistils rapidly increase their mass and join together at the top of stem and branches to form stupendous sparkling colas that will please every ganja lover."

* Flowering: 45 - 55 days
* Yield: 150 g
* Height: 100 - 150 cm

Indica / Sativa
Flower Time: 45-55 days
Seeds 5 fem
Environment: Indoor/Outdoor

I think the yield assumes the seedlings will be flowered immediately. Whatever...

If I don't go for Dame Blanche I'll probably get the White Widow.

I urge you to learn and master the reveg, it could save your butt at some point in the future. It sounds like you will... please do! We all can learn while watching. :rasta:

I hope you harvest heavy! :rasta:

@spaceghost - Thanks dude. I saw Mr. Nice availability at SeedBoutique - I might be wrong? At least they had Jack 33, which I'm hearing good things about.

No mites to speak of. I've had mites before and there are definitely no pests on these ladies. I have air coming from all sides, and light from the underbelly of the leaves to ensure infestation does not take hold.

@Dr. Dog - Thanks man!

yo funk are those mexican sativas? they look sativa dom from the foxtailing and structure. i always like to seed what seeded regs grown out proper do

I cut down a lower nug of the biggun a few days back, dried it, and smoked it with my lady tonight while we watched Pineapple Express. Pretty impressive, I have to say. I am having trouble sleeping now.

@chitown - No idea dude, but it very well could be. I hope those ladies aren't pure sativa. I don't know if I could stand six more weeks!

Day 49

These plants seem to have gotten a second wind. All of the plants have thickened up, expecially the stringier plants. The bigger plant has become EVEN LARGER and fattened up more.

The middle, leafy, low-bud plant is either getting nute burn or something else, but its pissing me off. I just reintroduced flowering nutes and can't believe there's more nute burn! I've been feeding them all ph-adjusted (6.0) water since.

The stringy plant is now looking phat. Really phat. I'm starting to think she'll produce more than the big plant.

Big plant should be done in two weeks or so, the rest probably a month considering they just started fattening up. My god this is going to take a long time.

Yes, you turned out very nice considering! Not a bad go of things at all. I've read elsewhere on how 1 in 3 of us ever get anything off of a plant, this makes me feel good in itself. :rasta: Really man, good job! :smile:
